It’s actually an 116508 but agree it’s awesome

I think it really depends on the model. A PM Daytona on OF is either no discount or about 5-8% max these days in the US.

It kills me to read on here that it was possible to have gotten up to 20% off on these at one time. But if I'm being honest, I'm a bit skeptical of that, given that their demand from the get go was pretty high, and secondary market pricing was pretty close to retail.
With Daytonas with PM bracelets, I'm guessing the discounts were, and are, much better.

On DD's, I'm sure the discount available for serious customers is still pretty good.

15-25% on PM is still doable, sans the new RG GMT I would say.

Trust me the quote on the WG was genuine, a few members have benefitted from me pointing then in the right direction.

Don’t forget I’m UK based!

Not sure the AD would of done it alongside VAT refund back sadly to late to find out!

You could buy here at retail and claim VAT so that would be a decent saving?!

For sure — I figured geography played a part in it as well.
For now my plan is to hang onto/wear my SS 116500 and enjoy that for a bit and during the next market downturn (we all know it will happen), negotiate the price on a PM Daytona — either rose gold or WG— and that would a piece I keep. It’s the only PM watch that speaks to me outside of the ROC gold with blue dial/blue alligator strap. Problem (or maybe it’s a good thing : ) is that I don’t have the wrist size for that piece.

Right now, the best discount I can find on a PM Daytona is 5% off plus no sales tax.

OP is in the UK so I’m stating from UK Rolex AD’s!

We get charge 20% vat on imported goods so would negate pretty much all the saving if buying from the likes of DavidSW

Offered 9% off a 116618lb the other month and 8% off a 228235 the other day. Nothing to tempt me to buy new from an AD

Yes finally so relevant info for the OP

I know and as stated at least twice by me OP is in the UK so quoting any discount achieved outside the UK or EU is pointless info!

Paying that price on a full PM is for those desperate few that can't wait a month or two for their AD or won't travel.

Nice. Was that through an AD or gray/reseller?

Same can be said for the new SS Pepsi, perhaps even more so given the UK MSRP (£6,800) to UK grey sellers prices of £15k.

Though I suspect the wait for the SS Pepsi will be longer and quite considerable for some.

On a related note, does anyone know the actual markup? In particular, I wonder what the dealer cost is on DD40 in platinum and white gold. Obviously they can’t afford to sell them at cost, but it would give a sense of the bottom end of what is possible.

In Italy where discounting used to be common I now find it much less so than even a year ago. PM Rolex Daytona’s or CHNR GMT no discount for example. A jewellery brand sold by the same chain was last year was discounted 20% but only 12% this year. Inflation is upon us!

Dealer cost is 62% of MSRP, I believe.

Yes the RG can be ordered in so only a short wait, the Pepsi could be 1 year to never so going grey is more reasonable.

I see, any details on this info?

Smart move, Rolex get 6% more and the retail stays low and keeps demand and the hype going.

Really? Interesting move. I always thought the 62% was world-wide. How did you learn this?

You could play games- ask if they have a ss Daytona and a blro and that you’re interested in buying both. Obviously they will laugh at you. Then ask about looking at the pm Daytona. Marvel at how beautiful it is but then voice how you’d really like the ss Daytona and blro but now are conflicted. Then say how much could I get this for today?

The ad will obviously want to close the deal today and negotiate.

Take this from a fellow flipper...don't. Never sell watches you love, odds are you'll end up buying it back. Which is much more expensive.
