3rd Submariner - from Rolex Boutique in Japan (2 has pearl not centered issue)

So this is the 3rd submariner I got in the past 14 months, the first one which I gave to my dad was flawless (visually at least) then my 114060 has misaligned pearl (they replace the bezel and all happy) and I got a hulk in Jan this year, did not noticed the misalignment until today, am I just seeing things or it is really misaligned?

Think you're overthinking this one a little.

It is slightly misaligned to the left, albeit by a fraction of a millimetre.

You aren't wrong though, it is the slightest bit off. If it does bother you enough then you're going to be thinking about it every time you look down at your wrist.

Maybe you can get it swapped under warranty?

Your photo seems off center to me, hard to tell.

It may just be the angle you are looking at it from. Rotate the watch 180 degrees and look “down” at the pearl, it will likely appear centered once your viewing angle changes. If you are still unhappy, send it in for repair, Rolex will make it right.

I read these threads all the time and frankly was a bit nervous that my new Sub might have one of these defects.

Picked up the Sub about a month ago and compared it to some of the photos I see on here. Take this one for example. That is zoomed in massively. Look at the pearl as it sits on your wrist, you just don't see the detail that you do in that photo.

There was another thread on here looking at gaps between bracelets and cases. In the photos the gaps can look terrible. Then you look at your own watch with your own eye and realise anything will look terrible under 10x zoom.

If you're going to sit and look at your watch under a microscope then I think a mechanical watch may not be for you. Just accept that there will be some fine differences between watches and enjoy that yours is individual.

Just ever-so-barely to the left which is unnoticeable without a giant picture on a Rolex forum and an OCD diagnosis.

You have to try pretty hard to make this matter.

Well I would be more concerned that in your picture the Pearl is about the only one that nearly lines up. Clockwise all the markers appear to run out more and more.

Looks OK to me. It seems that the lighting is casting shadow left of the pearl making it look off-centered.

Agreed. We need to see a pic with even lighting.

Ps. Op, as well as a potentially misaligned pearl, the edge of the triangle beside the bezel serrations looks wonky also.

OP, you are definitely worried about nothing really.
First of all you took a macro shot that is not even centered to the object in question, even then, it's really hard to see if the pearl is off center.
Leave the macro shots and enjoy your watch, this model is so hard to find...

Oh no I have looked at the Pearl on my Hulk and it's the tiniest bit of center.
I am unable to sleep tonight, I feel I'll be up all night worrying.

Forget the pearl. Take a look at the tip of the hour hand. Doesn’t that Lume look like it spills a bit more to the left side than the right!? !?!?

Might be a fake!

In all seriousness once you’ve seen the flaw it’s hard to ‘unsee’ it and that’s all you will see every time you look down. Deranged or not it’s your watch and you want it perfect. I get it. If it were mine, I would bring it up to my AD for suggestions on how to address.

Off center pearl derangement syndrome. You guys crack me up.

Yep, Misaligned just a little. Rolex production is only 99% perfect! Unfortunately, you got the 1%.

This reminds me of some photography forums I've been on where people zoom in 800% checking the "sharpness" of their $10000 lens wondering if they got a good "copy".

Need to have a much sharper image centered correctly with a image test pattern attached

I think mine is the same. Either that or my eyes are playing tricks on me. Don't sweat it, you have a LVc! Go outside and look at that dial POP in the sunlight

Coming from Seiko (I still own and love them), this is nothing Those misaligned chapter rings drive me nuts. Different price point, I know.
