I've just come across a 1955 Tudor Submariner. Ref: 7923 for sale at a specialist auction house in Wiltshire, England.
It's a manual wind model on a non-Tudor bracelet, with what appears to be some nice provenance.
Estimate £30-50,000
It's LOT 64 at GARDINER HOULGATE, Corsham, Wiltsshire. UK. SN13 9SW.

I have no vested interest in this company or the watch, just thought someone here, might be interested.

Wrong hands, fwiw. Likely will affect the end result.

I had a glance through and most of their sales estimates seem low. Like decent datejusts estimated at 1500 pound or ecplorer 2 full sets for 3000 pound.

Sure wish I could get them at those prices.

This 7923, that sold at auction in 2015 was very similar to the watch in question, having identical Mercedes hands, identical movement and a similarly unusual dial (in that 1, it gives the water-resistance depth in the first place and 2, the depth is not in red).

So I don't think it should be assumed that the hands are wrong for a 7923.

Auction houses always estimate low. It brings in bidders and gives them the hope of getting the item cheap.

Don’t forget too the estimate is without tax and commissions. Without looking, I would say that is probably about 25% on from the hammer price. Bidders now really have to factor that in

Dial is heavily chipped at the bottom half. Still a rare and nice watch but obviously big issues with it. Each to their own though.

I dunno guys, the chipping is sad, but i rather this and the nice orig lume plots. Find a cheap set of big paddle hands and you have a nice daily driver (lol)
