Would you pay 100k for a rare Hot Wheels?

I think this is an interesting story, especially for those that like Hot Wheels.

Yeah, I had a green one of that model, which I think was the predominant color.

No, I would not. But my wife would not spend that much on a watch. So we all have our fetishes.

The feeling of owning something that's difficult to get / rate is certainly a nice one. I had no clue some of these could be worth anywhere near that. Different strokes for different folks I guess.

At that price it had better have a manual transmission. Wow.

Hot Wheels collectors are probably saying the same thing about watches. "Would you pay over $100,000 for that Daytona watch? But its just a watch..."

I will be home by Sunday and will post a pic most in blister packs. I only have about 800 at home. The rest are in blister packs in my parents attic. But I will post pics. I collect mainly treasure hunts.

I use to collect Treasure Hunts back in the day and the White Lightning’s. I have since parted with them, but man the hunt was fun. Going from Ames, Caldors,Bradlees,Toys R Us, Walmart, Service Merchandise and etc. Fun times.

It’s time to check that box of these still in my parent’s cellar. I’ve still got a bunch from the 1950s from my father as well.

No I wouldn't.

When I was a kid, some 30+ years ago I had a lot of hot wheels, some bought for me, some I "inherited" from my 15 year older brother.

They all met the same fate. My Transformer toys in a game that involved me with a hammer. Didn't smack my Transformers, but let's just say my hotwheels cars didn't come out too well from these plays. Wonder if I smashed something valuable....?

That's ridiculous. In that condition, wouldn't pay more than $97,500.

No because hot cars are too difficult to register and drive without getting stopped.

I once got stopped for faking my license tags, and the car wasn't even hot.

When you look like me “ Cindy “ you usually get pulled over for being HWD “Hot While Driving”. Oops I hear the police, gtg.

Well Cindy, you probably don't remember me but I met you in LA in the 80s, in a book store, and you definitely DO look like 'Cindy Crawford" in the morning sans makeup.

I'm sure you got pulled over a lot by studly LAPD.
