Stem removal on vintage 1030 movement

Hi where is the button to depress to remove the stem on a 1030 movement?

Is it a retaining screw just under the stem?
Do I turn counterclockwise half turn?

Slightly loosen the screw until the stem comes loose, but do it slowly. If you go too far the screw will disengage from the lever and you'll have to take the dial off in order to get it back on again.

Thanks just to confirm it’s the screw just below the stem. And I am turning counter clockwise slowly small intervals and trying to pull out the stem. Should have the stem in the time setting position as I turn the screw?

Yes that screw, counter clockwise.

Winding position is standard for most movements when taking the stem out.

Screw the stem into a pinvice, carefully heat it so that any loctite that might be used gets loosened, then unscrew the crown.

Don't tighten it on a weak/thin spot on the stem, you might break it when trying to screw the crown off.
