Trade Sub 116613 LB with DD 118238

Trying to hunt Day-Date 118238 for a while, found one now it pre-owned, year 2013 in mint condition and complete set/links. Champagne dial with Roman.
If I trade my 2019 116613LB Blusey in, they need me to add 6800$ extra. My Blusey still mint condition and full set too.
What do u think? Will u guy do it?

I would say do it. I threw my 2 tone sub toward a trade for a dd40. No regrets I am so happy. My 2 tone sub was a 2019 also. Since the dd is a 2013 I think it is worth it. Think about how much a new dd cost very pricey and no difference in the style of watch. Good trade up in my opinion.

Do you have another sub/beater watch? Sub/DD is a perfect two watch combo IMO

Bluesy to a dd36 is a good move but I’m not sure if you’re adding too much cash. Where are you trading in the watch? A ‘19 bluesy should fetch at least $12k and I’d value the ‘13 dd around $16-18k depending on the condition. $6800 sounds too much to add on top, $4-5k sounds more reasonable. But if you’re happy with the price, go for it. Hulk and dd36 sounds like a sweet combo. I want to add a 118238 one day to go with my 116234. Good luck!

I'd much rather have the bluesy myself, but that's what I'm into. If it doesn't speak to you - which, if you want it trade it in, it must not - then go for the DD.

I still hesitate to pull the trigger, can’t find DD 2011/up price below 18K, it mostly 18K-21K depend on condition.

Tough decision. You do not mention any other watches in your collection so just going off this info I could give some helpful info.
1. If the bluesy is your only watch then you do not have a watch for casual settings, not that you can't wear the DD but beach attire with DD looks a bit much.
2. Are you ready to wear all gold all the time? I have SS, TT and All Gold pieces and would say my DD gets the least amount of wrist time of all of my collection. If white gold then you could wear the DD frequently. Some people could care less about wearing all gold everyday and more power to them but I don't feel the need to wear all gold everyday.

I have gone back and forth between the 116613 LB or the 116618 LB as the next add. I lean towards the TT as it is a combination I could wear whenever. They are two I don't have in my collection.

Price wise, I would not go 6800 but more 4-5 extra on cash. Your watch could likely get 12,000 to 12,500.

Thank you for ur helpful advice, I’m still not clear to pull the trigger or not, since I feel it a little bit over price as well. In collection now I have, this Blusey, Hulk and GMT batgirl. It is one of hard decision,

Seems like you can find polished examples usually with b&p for $16k.

I'd pay a little more and get an unpolished one with b&p. But still, $6800 IMO is too much.

Yeah, I think you can find like a P serial for 15-16K but I think the ones beyond that with the newer clasps are a little closer to 18-20.

6800$ extra seems a bit much. Try to get them down (5500 - 6000)

Thanks! Wasn't aware they could be found at these prices. There is something though about the lugs and the way they are polished that is a hit or miss at times. I prefer the vintage ones more. Really weird.

I'd take that deal in a second, a Rolex DD is arguably the finest watch in the world
