How many watches do you keep at home

So I have a multiple watches that deserve to be in rotation. Problem is
most are in the safety deposit box in the bank. It also sucks going to the bank often and going through the whole safety deposit dance. I do have a safe at home but is it really 'safe'. Curious to know what you all do?

8 watches all at home. No point having them if they’re out of reach.

I've always kept all watches and jewelry at home - and the wife has some juicy gems. But everything is insured, so no worries.

I have a safe at home, it’s really just to deter opportunistic thieves. At the end of the day, if someone really wants it, a truck and chains can probably yank it out “bolts and concrete”. That’s why they’re insured.

Get a good safe. Like watches you need to research them. Buy one much larger than you think you need. The number one complaint on safe purchases is not buying big enough. I am one of the complainers. Once you have one you WILL find that you have much more than watches to put into it. If you are married get one three times as large as you think you need.

Read this...It may just change the way you think about safety deposit boxes. It did for me. I literally went out the next day and spent very good money for a quality safe and every piece I have is fully insured.

I have three safes at home. Different locations. My valuable stuff inside the safes.

My other stuff, spread in various cabinets around the house.

Not one in the bank.

That's only today's wave of responses..

Ask this question on a random day in October and you might have 25 replies that you should ONLY keep watches at the bank...

Same as many of the above for me. Keep them at home in a safe and insured. I bought a fire proof safe but not sure that would really matter in the event of a fire.

I keep mine in an 800 pound, Liberty Lincoln Safe, bolted into the concrete floor of a fully alarmed, well lighted home in a gated community.

I keep my collection in my safe at home and are insured on a separate articles policy, also in a well armed/alarmed home.. Got a great deal on an awesome safe from Costco -

Now I realize plenty of crime exists here too (Japan) but my watches are literally in a watch roll on the dresser 24/7. Alarmed condo on 26F. Sure, it COULD happen but it’s rather unlikely. I’d never keep them at a bank

All kept inside various gun safes at home with an alarm on home that notifies local police department. They call me verify everything is ok. Most of the time it is someone at the house forgot to disarm the alarm.

No certified safe at home no extra insurance for valuables like watches is possible. So a safe is installed at the hoise. Also I rent a safety deposit box to stash the watches I do not have on rotation and where I store all the warranty cards seperately.

All in home, on a display & tray on my dresser.

Sorry to say but keeping wearable watches at a bank is a ridiculous idea.

All at home on dresser. I’d only have one watch if I had to store them at a bank, but I understand everyone’s circumstances are different

All at home safe and a big dog and alarm all insured. Be careful with safe deposit boxes . Banks are not responsible for its contents .
Always bolt that safe down
