Wow, that's a stunner! I have a soft spot for vintage gold sports watches. If only I hadn't sold my like-new 1680/8!

Don't see what something like that would develop over time. Any experts willing to chime in? This is such a rare reference that I haven't come across enough to form an opinion.
Nor I, but my understanding was that most had black dials and fewer had tiger eye (or champagne). If your other one shows none of that radial pattern in the light (regardless of color), that would seem to confirm different dials.

Incredible, one of the most drop dead gorgeous watches you could ever wish to own.

Dial, hands, case, bracelet all really super nice.

Very nice strap! I like it a little better than the other, but that watch would look good with anything!

I was looking at the dial, and the interesting thing for me is at the SWISS marker on the bottom at 6:00. The "i" is a separate character at the 6:00 position to the right of the second marker at 30 seconds. On my two-tone GMT 1675 with matte nipple dial, the second marker at exactly 6:00 is used for the "i" in SWISS. Just an observation.

The ones that do typically have been polished down with loss of the details of the case and various mis-matched parts. No excuses clean pieces seem to be rare.

One of the trusted sellers I’ve done business with before is Andrew Shear. He is highly knowledgeable and forthright on the condition of the pieces I have purchased from him. He contacted me with an original owner piece he had recently acquired from an estate. He said this was an untouched all original example in lightly worn condition with no marks on dial and an unpolished case. It even had a gold Rivet bracelet which is my preferred option for this watch. After we settled on a price I had the watched shipped to Phillip Ridley for service.

Phillip confirmed that the watch had never been serviced and that the case and bracelet were both unpolished and in remarkably good condition. He performed a full mechanical service on the watch and sourced a NOS crown and tube for the watch (returning the original parts back to me to keep with the watch). Nothing was done to the case or bracelet. The pictures below were taken by Phillip during the service and show the condition of the piece. The photos are unedited aside from my blurring out the serial number. The chamfers are remarkably crisp, the teeth on the bezel ring are sharp and feel new. The fat font insert has no marks on it. Even the bracelet is tight with little if any stretch and the claps feels tight. This appears to have been a special occasion watch worn infrequently over its 40+ years. Going forward I will continue to keep this as a special occasion watch and make sure that it gets the wrist time it deserves while being careful to maintain its current condition. I wear all of my watches in rotation as it doesn’t sit well with me to make something a seldom seen safe queen.

My thanks to Andrew Shear for another great transaction. He has earned my trust as an expert resource and source for hard to find pieces.

My thanks also go to Phillip Ridley for his speedy 2 week turn around on this watch. He has worked on over 10 vintage pieces for me and has become a trusted resource for verification of authenticity and condition of the pieces that I purchase. It gives me piece of mind to have my watches independently evaluated. Also, most are well behind on their service schedule so it works out well to have a full service performed by Phillip once he has verified the piece. Phillip recently opened his own independent service center separate from his father with the following web address: https://ridleywatchmakers.com. He has helped me to source difficult to find bracelets, bezels, crowns, etc for the watches he was worked on for me

Spectacular !!!

This piece is very end of production run for 1675/8 and has a gloss dial that turns red/brown tones in direct light. Very different in person from the Matte dial pieces. Seems there was some transition of matte to gloss dials at tail end of 1675/8 production. Under 10X loupe in direct sun this gloss dial has similar appearance to the gloss dials in my 66 gilt 5513 and 70 gilt 1680/8 tropical.

new combo

This new one is my favorite. This one has better color match to dial and tone on tone stitching which is better than the white stitch.

Thanks for the the reply. There really isn't a whole lot of information regarding the brown dials on these 1675/3/8 versions. I thought the tiger eye started at the beginning of the 16753/16758 run but clearly with an applied emblem this is a 1675 dial. It's beautiful. Oh and I do really like the new color strap! Perhaps if Springer gets bored one of these days he will create the definitive 1675/3/8 brown dial guide. I suppose I could do it myself, but whats the point if I based all of my research on what Springer says…

Hi, it is a beautiful watch and is one of my favorite, unfortunately my is not even near this conditions.
I was looking at the comment of TimeLord regarding the "I" of Swiss because mine is like yours, with the "I" next to the 30" and I have been told that in mine it suppose to be exactly over the 30", basically the i is printed over the marker and hard to see it.
So the fact that Ridley said that yours is correct, that makes me feel better about mine 1657/8 serial 5.8

Absolutely beautiful. Took me a long time to appreciate them as I'm not really a gold fan. My mind has been definitely changed.
