So sad how noticeable Apple's lack of innovation since Jobs passed is. |

Sounds like its not a phaser and still only a phone so I think I'll upgrade when my phone eventually dies as I always do.

My wife has an S10+ in ceramic and that thing is a beast. This years phones seem to be marginal. The Note 10 is meh compared to the S10+ or S10 5G. While the real upgrades to the iPhone are coming next year.
I'm waiting until next year, my Note 8 is going strong, no need to keep up with the joneses. If you have an iPhone previous to the X then this would be a good upgrade, if X or after, it's really not necessary unless you like new things, but next year there will be a jump in phone tech across all brands. I'm waiting. |

2020 is almost here and Apple makes smartphones with a notch. Amazing company.

Iphone 11 Pro looks pretty neat. I upgrade my phone every other year, and this is this year is an upgrade year. I'm looking forward to getting it.

New camera on the iPhone 11 Pro looks cool. Love the new Midnight Green color for the Pro. That's about it though!

Waiting to see if they release a new version of the 6 SE this year.
Don't really want a bigger phone than that but it may be out to pasture. |

It was pretty ho-hum to me -
Moore’s Law is still alive. Faster CPUs & GPUs. More time spent on gaming, camera, photos & video. Oh, and new buyers get a free year of Apple Arcade... like I said, ho-hum. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

And the wait continues for a compact phone like the SE...

I’m in for an 11 Pro. I’ve been doing silver/white iPhones the last few upgrades. This time I may do space grey or even gold. Nothing wrong with a little gold. What do you all think about gold?

I am all about the camera, and use it all the time. Pretty sure I'll upgrade to the 11 Pro in a couple months and start that Apple contract over again.

I'm still rocking the iPhone 7+ and have no intentions of upgrading anytime soon. I usually keep my phones until they brake haha
The 11 Pro looks pretty cool. From what I've read and researched, the BIG iPhone release will be the next cycle in 2020. If it's good enough, I might just upgrade next year. |

I'll keep running my iPhone 7 until:
1. It dies. 2. Apple innovates something to inspire a new purchase. I asked my 2 kids what innovation they think would be a "leapfrog" advance for iPhones and was rather surprised at their answer (i expected self hovering/teleporting type answers) and they said simply...a phone that doesn't break when you drop it. |

Big meh this year.
They pretty much caught up to what the Android flagships have had for a while now and didn't push further at all. Finally added "fast" charging in 2019 that is still slower than what's available with USB C. Still using that ancient lightening cable. No reverse wireless charging. Pro versions still have lower resolution and pixel density than Samsung device screens. Video improvements look great but besides that it's just same old marginal updates and catch up game they've been playing for years now. It's so strange how iPhones were the default for the best cameras, best screens, and best designs, yet now they just don't seem to be trying anymore. They have great processors, great video, and their ecosystem but they've been passed in every other way and seem to be getting by on the their brand power alone. It's laughable that this event had the tagline "by innovation only" That being said, I think I'll get my dad the 11 pro max in green. That color looks very nice.

Disappointing that they got rid of 3d / force touch in my opinion. I quite like that feature on my x

But you're right, no innovation really, will wait for the 12, I'm also skipping the Note 10, which was great but not really better than an S10+. 2019 is a snoozer, let's see what the Pixel brings. |

I finally “upgraded “ my iPhone 6 but only went to an 8. Lol. It ended up being free so I went with that. The old iPhone 6 was passed on to my daughter as her first phone. Let’s see how long it lasts in her hands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

The biggest driver for me on my last upgrade was the improved 7+ camera. It looks like this may ring true again. I am impressed with the improved function of the 11 Pro Max camera no matter how ugly it may look. This could easily allow me to leave even my small Sony DSC Rx100M3 at home now.
I have been waiting for the 5g phones to come out, especially since the battery on my 7+ is doing just fine. However, it is appearing it will be 3-4 years before 5g is fully implemented in the Denver neighborhoods where I spend my time. So why should I wait for another upgrade? Any features other than 5g that would be worth waiting for the next model?

Gonna pre-order the 11 pro. I love the camera. Its slightly smaller than my current XR, which is only a few months old and will be a perfect upgrade for my girlfriend.

Really debating this - love the upgraded camera and the new green color but that's about it. Is it a waste? I dk. Up in the air.

I like Apple products but yesterday the difference between the new entry level phones and the Pro phones was the camera and Apple charged an extra 3 or $400 for that.

Yeah, you get a slightly faster phone and better cameras, but that's not enough for most people. My dad has an iPhone X and Apple hasn't done anything to the designs except add that hideous camera square since then. They've gotten a little larger, but if this is three generations of phones, I can see why people are holding onto their devices for longer. My dad is tired of his X, but I don't know if I get him the 11 Pro Max or wait until next year. He definitely wants something new, but I'm afraid it's going to feel like his X but slightly bigger. Which is essentially what the 11 Pro Max is. Next year will be a big redesign, but what will they do? Add a fingerprint sensor under the screen like android phones already have? Get rid of the notch like android phones already have? Apple is not the same company they were 10 years ago. They are definitely in decline.

The problem is that they aren't doing the things they used to, yet they feel they can charge the same prices because they are a "luxury" brand. It's not going to last forever. No one wants to spend $1000 on a phone every year, especially when the improvements aren't great. There is no possible justification for a $500 Pixel phone taking better pictures (especially in the dark) then a $1000 plus iPhone. It's insanity. That wasn't the case a few years ago. iPhone cameras were light years beyond what any of Android phones could do. Now Apple just lags behind. My only issue is their fan's response when they introduce a feature that has been on other phones for years. It gets a little annoying when Apple fans start going wild simply because Apple decided to add a feature the rest of us have been using for years. Hopefully the iPhone 12 will be a huge change, but at this point I doubt it.
