Your Rolex and Modest vehicle!

Hey all.

Curious to know who here prioritizes watches over vehicles!? I always see photos of Daytona’s and lambos

Would be refreshing to hear about those who have fantastic watches but modest vehicles

I love cars. But if I had the $ to buy a watch or a depreciating sport vehicle I’d go watch every time.

Currently have a 126710BLRO and a 216570 Polar

I daily drive a 2009 Volkswagen Golf rabbit. Recently purchased a 2016 Audi A3 for a great deal, but my wife drives it primarily

Curious to hear from u all.

I'd say I do. I have an explorer II 16570 getting a sub soon. Drive a 95' 2 door jeep cherokee everyday with over 500k miles. I have 2 more jeeps and a 91' Chevy blazer. My priorities are not vehicles.

Can’t help you Andre, but I will say I’d put the emphasis on watches vs. cars if I had to choose.

I recently upgraded from a 2014 Mini with 60K mi. to a 2014 BMW X3 with 86K. The BMW is a much more comfortable, nicer car however I'd still consider it modest as it cost quite a bit less than the Mini did when I bought it, new.

Nice, it reminds me of my first car, a Simca!!! It could travel a highway speeds (downhill with the wind behind it).

My vehicle is a Honda CRV 2010, I have 3 watches that each is around the current price of the used car, one that is around double price (Patek 5196) and one that is more expensive than the new vehicle price (Day Date 40 WG)

I'm on board with this thinking, I drive a Golf! I've had a few 'nicer' cars over the years, but as I've grown up, I put less priority on a car. Especially with depreciation and all that.

That said, if I could buy a new 911 GT3 every year they're released, drive it for 6 months, and have the dealer buy it back from me for more, I would. :P

One watch guy as of right now with my 16570 Polar P serial.

One car guy with our 2018 Subaru Outback. Kind of a must have piece of kit for hauling two little ones and a dog. It’s also White (polar) for what it’s worth!

The Trabant has a steel body floor frame, with the roof, boot lid, engine bonnet, front and rear wings plus doors made of what they call duroplast. Which could be called a hard plastic type, its made from recycled cotton waste from the then Soviet Union, and phenol resin waste from the then East German dye industry. The car was originally yellow but had it sprayed a few years back now and thats one of the original colours offered when your name come up to own one back in the East Germany days.It took a approximate 10- 15 years of waiting to own one back 1960/70s, and the price was almost as much as a Jaguar XJ6.

I would guess that there could be a correlation of the level of car one drives to the NUMBER of Rolex, AP and PP owned.

Modest Mazda 3. Tough on me to spend more than the cost of my YG Sub on a car. Vehicle is not important to me.

I have an ‘84 911 that I have had for a number of years. I paid less for it than I paid for my TT Skydweller.

Like torrent I also drive a 2010 Honda CR-V, and have a treasured 1996 Sub 14060, just back from its second service. I bought it new, and it has hardly ever been off my wrist. If I had to choose which to blow up then it would be my Honda, much as I love driving it. No problems in buying a new Honda...!

I have the TT CHNR and the SD4K, with an ALS Saxonia Thin, and my daily beater is a Honda Fit. Our "family car" is a 2009 Acura MDX.

I definitely prioritize many other things, such as watches, over a car. I do not enjoy spending good money on something that depreciates so fast. Given a choice between a 30K car + some nice watches or a 60K car, I will take the former every single time!
