Do you think there's something wrong with it?

I tried using my iPhone stopwatch... the iPhone was terrible over 24 hours.

Ended up using a usgs time website.

Take it out of the box and set it to something quartz wait a week. How fast do you think it is? Not entirely sure what the question is to be honest.

I use the Watchville app by Hodinkee. It has a clock you can synchronize with so you can check your watch’s daily deviation from spot on. My Explorer 1 is about +1 second a day.

Hmmm I think it’s my mind messing with me I’ll have to keep checking the Macs time on top of the explorer 1 timing it will take a weak and if it’s acting to fast I may have to send it in I’ll be very sad

Set it to something like time.gov

Wear it as you normally would and check the change after 24 hours and again after 48 hours.

Should give you a good idea.

It's probably fine, but might as well use a source that is definitely a constant.

Give your watch a full wind. Sync to time.gov and check tomorrow night and let us know how it's doing.

Obsession with accuracy puzzles me. Sure Rolex states within +-2 a day and a new watch should be within those tolerances but is slightly outside really unacceptable? I also wonder how many mechanical watches accuracy enthusiasts have owned? Shouldn't they have gotten a Grand Seiko Quartz and had done with this WIS thing?

If you want a dead on accurate watch buy a Quartz or a G Shock, or better yet use your iPhone. No mechanical watch is going to be dead on accurate.

I guarantee you that your Explorer is either fast or slow, I can guarantee that because they all are.

I have been monitoring my daily wear sub for the last 6 weeks. Over the last month it has stayed dead on to my phone. If I lose 1 sec one day I assume I gain 1 sec the next. I check at least once per week, not because I am obsessed with accuracy...just a good excuse to play with my toy and the wife not to bug me about it.

Your Mac is not a time standard and receives an over-air signal. It will update periodically, and change without you knowing, same with your phone.

Use the Toolwatch app. It’s got an atomic clock view to set the watch to a reference time, and if you want to measure and track the number of seconds it’s gaining or losing, you can measure the accuracy from its dashboard. You don’t have to remember what exact time to look at the watch every day to check the difference after 24 hours ... you just press a button when the second hand hits a new minute and confirm the time your watch shows, then do the same thing 12+ hours later. The app does the math for you and averages the last three measurements by watch in your dashboard. Free and easy.

Why don't you post the performance over a weeks time per day after winding 40 full turns of the crown each day and note the position that the watch is resting in so that a proper analysis can be given? Use a standard time keeping source to compare such as time.gov.

Looking forward to your detailed results
