There's been no evidence presented that the Philippine customs is corrupt here.

The seller valued a very expensive watch at $31, which will trigger a customs hold just about everywhere. Resolving customs issues in transit usually requires the shipper to work out the issues. The buyer pays the duty, but getting the consignment through to that point is the shippers responsibility. The shipper seems to have lost interest.

Make sure you're barking up the right tree.
Have to agree

You bought from chrono. This sounds pretty standard. Chrono is pure garbage and you have received garbage service in return. It’s essentially craigslist with an eBay like skin over the top of it.

x2, look at the crap fake dssd band that is in another thread here. Pure trash. I emailed Chrono24 like 6 times thinking they would pull it down. They could care less. Buyer beware!

The big question is how did you pay ? If you paid by PayPal or AMX, you should dispute charges as you never received item. For future reference, no matter who seller is pay only this way or both.

You’ve got 6000 posts here and you’ve never heard of Alex pig? Dude is a major Hong Kong seller. Major. Bricks mortar the whole deal.

I don't live in Hong Kong, I live in the USA.
Never heard of him... Apologies...

Nonetheless, I'll tell you there's a preowned Rolex shop
in my town that's been here for over 30+ years...
Bricks and Mortar as well and very well known but I would never buy from them...
Pushy , shady and overpriced... shall I continue?

At one point I maybe would've purchased from them .
Now that I have learned a few things being here I'll let the people
that don't care to do their due diligence buy from them...

Thats how things work in the Philippines, you need to find out who is in charge and have a face to face with him, hand him your documents with a few thousand pesos tucked inside and you will get your watch in a few days.

Very few in the USA know Alex Pig. I just learned of him a few months ago myself when someone here asked me for an opinion about one of his watches.

I always had great, pleasant dealings with him, face to face, and purchased a few pieces over the years. Always up front and accommodating.

In all my face-to-face dealings (multiple buys, a sell and a trade) with Alex he's been nothing but upfront and honest, and is about as far from pushy or shady as it gets. He's totally legit.

Due diligence: I've had all my purchases from him (as I do from all others) authenticated and serviced by HK RSC or authenticated by the RSC but serviced by an independent (when the RSC wouldn't service w/o changing vintage dials/hands).

I don't know about in your town, but in Hong Kong it's no more than a 30 minutes from anywhere to walk-in, sit down, and drop off a Rolex at the Jardine House RSC to have them give it a look, let alone by any of the countless other experienced Rolex watchmakers/experts around. You couldn't throw a brick down a crowded street without hitting at least 7 of them. Having a Rolex checked out in HK is easier than Madonna.

His pieces are guaranteed 100%, no questions asked, and not for some BS 3, 5, or 10 day time-frame inspection period. There's plenty of time to have it looked at, even by the RSC, and he'll honor it as I know from experience. You won't find fiercer or thicker competition between Rolex re-sellers any place on earth than HK so being shady, illegitimate, or dealing in junk will be exposed pretty quick through multiple and convenient resources to do so.

Alex has a great reputation and steady/growing business in Hong Kong. It's a mom and pop operation, and he has absolutely no reason to risk torpedoing it along with his own name by doing what whoever it is in your town apparently does. Speaking of names, the name "Pig" is just a word play on the pronunciation of his Chinese name.

Given my experiences dealing with Alex who's been nothing but honest and accommodating, I'm not convinced we've heard the complete story from the OP.

If the dealer Alex Pig has all this great feedback it
leaves me to conclude that the OP is not giving us
the whole story and somehow the problem rests with him...

I had a discussion with Alex Pig about this issue and I would have to agree with this assumption

Someone in Customs is probably wearing that on his wrist right now. I have had numerous dealings with customs in Philippines. Corrupt is an understatement. Given it’s a $200 1 1/2 hour flight to HK I would have personally flown over and got the watch. Great place to window shop as well HK.
