Audemars Piguet Quantieme Perpetual

Hi everyone! I have read some articles about AP QP recently and this is a really nice watch. The history is great and this watch looks awesome.

I think I am going to buy this watch. I saw there are few pieces (25657) on Chrono24. The price of a YG is around USD$25,000 while the price of a RG is around USD$31,000.

If I spend around USD$30,000 on this watch, does it worth?

Also I would like to know whether I should choose YG or RG. YG is more classic as most of the PC watches come with a YG case. But RG is rare, there are only 362 pieces in the world.

Also, “AP’s RG is the finest RG in the world.” -John Mayer on Talking Watches, so this is another reason to buy a 25657OR.

1821 pieces of 25657 were made,
1309 in YG
362 in RG
128 in platinum
16 in WG
5 in TT
1 in SS

The model you’re looking at is only 36mm in diameter, as long as you have a small wrist it’ll look good on you but otherwise it may look too small.

I have a 6.75” wrist and I don’t think my wrist is small. But I think 36mm watch fits me well since I have a 36mm Day Date and I think it looks good. Dress watch should be small, 36mm is a perfect size for dress watch.

Fully agree. My wrist is 6.6" and I also consider 36mm the sweet spot for a dress watch for me. Anything outside of 34-38mm looks too small or too large when it comes to dress watches.

Hm, looks like rose gold (my choice as well) is running away with the win.

Why did you choose rose gold? Because there is only 362 pieces are made?

I'd buy the rarest one so it can be a good investment

I chose it in the poll, not real life, where I don't actually own a (working) dress watch. To me it seems a little less formal.

Even if my Patek Calatrava ref 96 is 31mm only, I still think it looks great on my wrist. Maybe the lug of it is long, so it won’t be too small.

Tommy you will love this watch, rich history and incredible on the wrist. 25657 I would go rose (in the metal it’s very attractive to the eye), if yellow is your personal preference I’d look for an early Swiss only 5548. All the best, Ben

WatchBrothersLondon has an incredible modern vintage article about the AP QP - super insightful and in depth. The RO QPs are super undervalued and with 36mm and refreshing size to go as a dresser.

I have one in yg and similar wrist size. It’s fine size wise for a dress/vintage-y watch.

The C24 asking prices have tripled in the past 18 months. Not sure how real they are vs actual transacted prices.

Yes, I read this before. The history and story of AP QP are great. I learnt a lot from this article.

True! When I tried to find this watch, I saw some example which is sold last year was around USD$10,000 only. But it costs USD$25,000-USD$30,000, so I’d like to know do you guys this it is too expensive for this watch.

It’s in line with PCs from the holy trinity. I’d also rather pay 25k for a gold PC from AP than a steel Rolex.
