All told less than 5 weeks from the day I first expressed interest and I am very pleasantly surprised :)
Thanks for the response and love the watch! I will enquire shortly

AP New 43 Royal Oak Offshore

Tried this bad boy on a few days ago when visited London boutique on Sloane St. The weight on it was crazy considering rubber strap and ceramic bezel.

The 43mm looked ok on my small 6.3inch wrist I thought.

I walked into the bal harbor boutique yesterday, bought a strap for my brick and they wouldn't even take an order from me for the 43 smoked dial.

Curious, why not? Is it that much in demand?

That one and the RG are the two more in demand pieces among the new 43s

What do you think is the order of demand/popularity of the current colors?

My current thinking is RG goes first, Taupe second, Gray/blue 3rd? But maybe Gray/blue is soon to be king now that it's circulating?

I'm really torn on asking for a gray/blue or RG after seeing NYC2LA's photos!

I imagine all 3 (the gray/blue Ti, the Taupe SS, and the RG) are amazing on the wrist.

For me, it was A LOT about comfort and the lighter the better. It also has to do with which colors would keep me interested in the long run. I will never tire of a blue / grey combination.

Is there any ‘shine’ to the dial look or does the dial come off as pretty Matte?

Man, I’m such a fan boy right now! Lol.

Think you’re spot on with the order.

For the blue grey, the dial color depends entirely on lighting. It can be matte or have a white sheen (because of the CNC on the dial)

The dial is pretty dynamic. When it isn’t reflective of the light, it is more of a textured grey, albeit not shiny. I cannot replicate the flat matte dial that I got on my 44 CE.

The dial on this watch has a great balance between being too flat and the seemingly ubiquitous sunburst/fume dial.

This dial is never boring to look at. :)

Thanks for that first photo. Very clever way to have in the same photo what it looks like in direct sun light and out of direct sunlight. very, very helpful. Thank you.

This reference looks great in your pics. I’m curious if you have the same color way in the 44mm version, as you stated in post, then would you be able to post a side by side comparison picture, please?
This color way is so versatile that one can’t go wrong.
Thanks.

I used to own the blue / gray CE 44mm but do not anymore. So unfortunately I can’t show a side by side. I agree that this color way is extremely versatile and one I won’t tire of.

Looks great on you, my man. That blue and grey combo is fast becoming a bit of an AP specialty.

Thank you for clarifying, because in particular I was curious to ask why you would buy the same colors configuration in 43mm if you had the 44mm…although I do know that some people like having different variations of the same watch, although these are too close imho. Again, this 43mm looks perfect on you, and so I wonder if the 44mm was or felt big or out of place. Regardless, I’ve always liked this color way and your wrist shots will be prompting me to call boutique this week:)
Thank you and be well.

I got mine too. If you look at the dial directly, the bezel is more like stainless steel because of the way it polished, but if you look at it at some angle, you can see the grey color of the ceramic bezel!

That was the reason I ordered one immediately as soon I tried it. It has even shorter lug overhang than the 42roo!

Gents! Great to kind of meet you all. 1st time AP owner (43mm offshore grey dial blue sub dials). I had taken a liking to AP about 4 years ago when i turned down a 15400 silver/ white or black dial in favour of a Rolex day date 40. Have always been a Rolex guy and have had most models but in the past 12 months got tired of the constant AD games to get the new models so time for a change. Of course I couldn’t just pick up a new 15500 without a prior history in the current market. But then they released these 43mm offshores, always liked the 44mm but just a but too big and weird tunnel date (I need a date ) 42mm not a fan of the pushers. But this thing is great… love it. Is it better than a gold sky dweller on bracelet? Yes because the finishing is better and the dial is not stamped anymore but has real depth unlike any Rolex so … in summary I’m pleased I’m here guys!

I've been enjoying the rose gold offshore, I've had the 44mm and the 43 is really that much different. I think there are pros and cons to each size but the 43 is so much more integrated.

I’m actually going back and forth between a new AP 43 vs RG skydweller on a strap. Like you I’m leaning towards the AP. The skydweller doesn’t seem to be a popular piece.

Any idea of the general release dates of the new 43s? Next year will they start a series of limited editions or new models or will this years offerings be the only ones for awhile.
