Question about my DD40 oyster case geometry....

Quick question for you guys out there. I was looking at the case geometry of my DD40 and as the oyster case kinda curves down towards the bracelet, it doesn't appear to be a nice perpendicular edge. I wasn't sure if this was normal or expected?

On my Milgauss, I believe the same oyster case but I could be wrong, you can see how it's a nice perpendicular edge as it tapers down towards the bracelet there.

Curious to hear what you guys think or what your oyster cases look like?

Hi OP, I don't own a DD, but I just went on the Rolex website and images of the DD case/lugs look like yours. It curves and is NOT straight across like your Milgauss.

Hey OP, it was one of the first things I noticed on my DD as well. Definitely a curve.

Ah yes I love these topics!

It seems Rolex has associated the luxurious end of their watches with curves.

See how much more premium YM is (for SS) against Sub. To achieve a difference they made the flanks rounded and the curves are similar to Daytona.

Sharp is modern, design and utilitarian (no unnecessary element).

Meanwhile the more luxurious models (not in the price but in the ethos) have a softness to it.

Looks good - perhaps it’s deliberately softer to be more luxurious -v- tool-like?
