Please help! Dial choice on 15450 by Saturday
Fellow AP fanatics, please help me make a decision -
I fell in love with the AP Royal Oak this summer, and am after a 15450, the perfect size for my small wrist. The AD Boutique I am working with is awesome and agreed to allocate me a 15450 this fall. Question: They called today and offered me a white dial 15450. What’s the opinion of the forum on dials for the 15450: should I jump at this white dial, assuming I like it, or wait for grey, which has been my first choice option (though I have not seen it in person). It’s hard to decide these things when you can’t browse them in person next to each other! Wrist shots appreciated, as is any first hand advice. Thanks! |

Take it now. You can always change to gray later. Enjoy both dials.

I think I'd call up the SA and ask what the likelihood is of getting it in the grey dial. For the amount of money you're about to drop, I'd be inclined to get my first choice, but if you want two 15450's then by all means get the white dial!

Any info/promises on when a grey dial might arrive? The "white" dials are more of a silvery-white and very dynamic in varying light. I have a grey dial 15500, but would be happy with a white dial as well.

I tried on all three dials and ended up going for the blue.
White and grey are very different vibes—the white will feel a bit sportier, the grey more of a monochrome/"fancy" type vibe. Can’t go wrong though! (btw this was a few years ago—didn’t want you thinking I found an AD with all 3 today) |

Silver-white looks classy and timeless to me. Grey not as interesting based on the pictures. For me it would be between the silver-white or blue dial.

Funny, I'm due to get a 41mm this fall too and I told them "anything but grey". Blue is out of the question so I'll happily take white or black.
Too hard to read the time at a glance on grey. |

White. It’s the most beautiful in person IMO (and blue)

Thanks, everyone! This is going to be a tough one, because I originally told them that my dial preferences were « anything but white » with a strong preference for grey. My main concern is that the white will be more flashy than I would like for an already eye catching model, but maybe I’m wrong.
That said: **I like to try different things and stretch my tastes. **If white doesn’t bond with me, at the first service interval I could do a dial change if I want **The white dial is ready here and now, who knows when the grey dial will come in (the Boutique doesn’t know, but they tell me it’s on their allocation list and it’s mine when it comes in) Right now, I’ll go take a look in person, and if I like it, I’ll pick it up. Keep the advice coming if you have it! And thank you, Forum, for the advice! |

I agree the silver-white dial is bright but not flashy. It has a very clean look that changes in different lighting. It's one of the features that I can keep looking at and is always interesting.

Go white/silver! Jump on it now! I did and I'm so happy with my decision. Its wildly dynamic and has a more pearly hue! Very versatile.

If you can have either eventually, then get the one you really like. You will always want that one. Plus the white will sell for less when you eventually unload it

Really depends on your taste. I have a blue and a white 15450, and a black dial 15300, and they are all so different to wear.
The white dial is really crisp and wears smarter than the the others. I also think that visually it creates the perfect size balance between the bezel and the dial. The grey doesn’t appeal to me personally quite so much, it’s a bit washed out for me. So I would go for the white dial. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Congrats, I had same dilemma. Chose silver over grey. Never looked back. Love the silver!

Don’t settle and get what you really want, who cares what others think. I passed on 15500st white with no guarantee for black (top choice). Ended up getting the black 9 months later and I couldn’t be happier. I know I would have never felt the same with white and I definitely didn’t want to deal with trading/selling.
