Speck/lint on dial worth servicing?

Well, I made the mistake of getting a 10x loupe with a light today (heck, it also comes with 20x and 30x lenses). When observing my 15500ST dial, I noticed a small speck on one of the squares. It looks like it got wedged in the grooves of the tapiserie dial. Also, there is a piece of lint on 6:00 marker, between the marker and crystal.

Using the 20x lens, the left circle resembles a small speck of dried glue/adhesive.

Hope I'm not coming off as too OCD, but is this worth the trouble of having the AP service center remove?

depends on how much you use the watch i suppose. i had something similar the day i picked up mine. i decided to leave it be, only i knew it was there and most of the time i didn’t notice unless i looked for it. it’s definitely not a good thing, but i decided i rather wear the watch. used it every single day for something like 2 years until it needed service for a different reason and that’s when i sent it in and told them to also fix that tiny spec while they fixed the other issue.

If you can’t see it with a naked eye then keep until you need something. If you can see it, then send it now.

If it is still under factory warranty, I could see an email to Clearwater and possibly sending it in. If not, I'd definitely wait until it needs to go in for regular service and make sure you point it out in writing when you do.

It is still under warranty actually. If I service it, I’ll be without for at least a month, and then there are other risk factors during transport too. So that’s why I’m wondering, so these sort of things happen at times, or is this a major anomaly.

Actually you could call Betsy in Clearwater. Explain the situation and she may send you a shipping kit. It gets overnighted to them. They typically expedite the service and you may only be without it a couple of weeks. I obviously can’t speak for them but based on my experience that may happen.

I wouldn’t send the watch in if it’s cosmetically in pristine condition. I’ve had unsatisfied experiences sending in brand new Rolex and PP for minor warranty works. Both watches came back with hairline scratches all over the places. I’d wait until the watch is due for a service.

I'm in two minds about this. Personally I don't think I would but with what APs cost it shouldn't be there.

You had me at 10x loupe. I'm sure if you had a 50x loupe you would find even more lint and worse. What about 100x? When will the madness end? Just leave it

I had this same issue with both a Patek and a Daytona. I got them both fixed and am happier
