Questions in regards to Calatrava

Hi guys,

Does anyone know the story behind the Calatrava name...I have seen it used by sellers on other watch brand as well, often referred to as a “Calatrava case”.

When another brand is referred to “Calatrava” does it then mean that the case resembles the Calatrava case by PP or is Calatrava simply an established watch industry term for a special case form?
