PAM 754 has arrived!

Gents,

Just received minutes ago from FedEx. My first Panerai. Was torn between this and the 753. Loved the symmetry of the 753 but felt I needed to see a seconds hand moving.

Here it is!

Awesome watch...I have the 8 days 609 with the sub seconds which looks almost identical to yours and I love it. There is something lovely about the way the 45mm fits on the wrist.

Beautiful - love the simplicity of the Radiomir case with the thin wire lugs & gorgeous fluted crown.

Been looking at a used 388 which is similar to yours but with a date.

Thanks gents! 5 days in and it hasn't left my wrist. The size seemed a little big at first but I'm completely used to it now. I absolutely love the size and pretty much everything else about this watch.

I think I'm going to wind up the Explorer II, set the time and date and give it a go tomorrow. Give the 754 a day off.

Any guidance as to approximately how many winds to give the 754 without overwinding it?

You will feel some tension when it’s at full wind. If you stop when you feel that, then you are good to go. At least that’s what I do with my 609.

From a dead stop I give my 690 about 80 or so winds until it starts feeling tight.

What a beaut! Tried this on in Panerai Old Bond Street and was impressed too. Suits you mate! (y) It is absolutely one I am shortlisting (along with the 609).

Congrats! Now on to the strap saga. If you want a recommendation for a strap maker, PM me. I have a great guy in MI. (Not sure if I can outwardly recommend on the thread).
