HELP! Rolex GMT or Daytona?

Hi everyone ! This is my first post and I need help deciding between a GMT Pepsi on jubilee or the black ceramic Daytona ...

I travel many times a year but I’m also a car enthusiast which makes the decision hard. Do I go with the Pepsi for its gmt function or do I go with the Daytona for its correlation to racing.. touch decisions

My current collection is a new submariner date black dial and omega aquaterra black dial.

I appreciate any replies

It comes down to functionality really...personally I find the GMT function more useful than the Chrono and the date also helps!

But from a form factor, I think the Pepsi on a jubilee will suit your current line up...

...then go and pull the trigger on the Daytona too!

I would say both fits and look very differently on wrist, if based on picture I would have choose gmt look. But mannnn I tried the Daytona on my wrist one day and if u ask me to choose again I would say Daytona. Hahaha so maybe u should try it on and see which “feel” u have the most

Suggest picking up the Daytona first if you’re able...then add the GMT.

The GMT is definitely my go-to for travel.

Can get both! In all honestly, since you’re a car guy, the Daytona. I mean you can always check your phone to see the date and time of different places lol

If you have a Sub, go for the Daytona.

PS: I used to be in aviation and travel all over the world. I thought a GMT function (I used to have an E2) would be great to have....but after a while it became a hassle to keep on setting the local time. I travelled weekly, always on another continent.
In the end, I kept it on UTC (we say zulu) and my base time and never changed it anymore.

If you’re a traveling man, I’d say fo with GMT as the date and GMT functions are both very useful

I have owned both and traded the SS Daytona-C for a WG Daytona. I would ask where you are getting the watches from and I will assume the Grey Market. Both are hot and the market value is high on both. It comes down to personal preference and money. I would go with the Pepsi and the colors are great and the Jubilee bracelet is very comfortable. Let us know what you decide.

It’s hard to argue against the BLRO. It will wear a lot differently than you sub because of the jubilee. Add to that, a splash of colour, 24 hour hand and rotating bezel for tracking multiple time zones and a date function which is essential for international travel IMO.

But .... if you follow your passion it’s the Daytona.

Both is the answer

I would say if you’re traveling, Daytona all the way. The Daytona is going to be much more comfortable on your wrist for an extended amount times.
I would add Pepsi later.

Go with the GMT for the date function. Other than the time, the date is the most important feature a watch provides IMO. You can also use the rotating bezel as a timer

For me, the Daytona wins out (won out, actually). I hope to own both eventually but if I could only get one it would be the black dial Daytona for sure.

Both of them are excellence timepieces, which one you can get at msrp first, just take that one.

Get the other one later too.

You can't go wrong with either, but I like the date and two time zone features of the GMT more than the chronograph feature of the Daytona. I have to admit, though, the Daytona is visually very attractive.

Disregarding the complications, I would suggest the Daytona. Even though they are similar in size I find the Daytona to be more comfortable but clearly it will depend on the way your wrist is shaped.

Having a BLNR and a White DaytonaC I would keep the BLNR over the Daytona any day if the week. Far more functional and I am on multiple project teams that are global. I used to travel almost 40% pre-Covid so the multi timezones were helpful.

GMT

I don't find the modern Daytona very practical as a Chronograph due to legibility. If you want a legible Chronograph, buy a Speedmaster.

IMO of course.

I guess I'd say both.
BTW, where are you sourcing these?

Is this an AD purchase or a grey purchase? Depending on the answer would depend on what I would buy.
