TT Black SkyDweller x Ostrich Leg Tobacco

Just in... after 6 months!

John Glance works out of Munich and specializes in high quality custom leather straps. I would recommend him to anyone who is interested, granted that the entire process could take crazy long due to COVID + international shipping delays. He developed a special fitment called the Thick Curved Lug System (TCLS) which, with or without an endlink, the strap will be flush and a seamless fit is ensured. Extra charges apply but well worth it in my opinion!

I ordered a Dark Tobacco Ostrich Leg in satin finish, and also a Navy "France Croco" Alligator which I am still waiting on.

He also has a blog, a webshop for ready-made straps, and a custom order portal for those who want a perfect fit.

Will post more pics of the Alligator when it arrives!

That looks awesome! How much was the international shipping? I see the straps are a little over $200 + any extras. I might order one, not sure if I’m patient enough for 6 months though.

Shipping was 15 euros, so very reasonable.

The strap itself was around 200 yes, but the options do add up. Apart from the TCLS, there is also option for extra padding at the lugs, and also extra charges if you want it to be customized to fit your deployment. I think they are all "must-haves" though, so not really options in my eyes!

Of all the TT watches I think the black dial sky just might look the best.

That looks really good. What deployant is it? Aftermarket or the clasp off the bracelet?

I did consider black but I went for this dark tobacco shade mainly because it was going to look almost black 80% of the time, while at the same time, not looking entirely black (hope this makes sense). I also referenced the full gold SkyDweller models and thought that a dark brown would match and accentuate the gold while giving subtle contrast to the very-black dial well. I went for days trying to visualize the end product and I'm glad it worked out.

Furthermore, John Glance has a very nice black croc swatch termed the "Million Dollar Alligator". Not because it costs a million bucks, but according to him every watch he's made a strap for with this leather looks like its worth a million bucks! Its one of his most popular alligator straps. You can give it a go!

Am using the original.

FYI there is an extra charge in order to customize it to fit the original Rolex clasp.

Looks good. But I never even considered incorporating ostrich or alligator into my watch strap wardrobe. And I bet they both taste like chicken!
