Looking to buy my first AP

Hi Guys,

I am fairly new into watch collection and so far I have 3 Rolexes .

1- Green Sub Hulk 2016 . bought for 8400$ from local AD
2- 1977 two tone Date Just with our Ruler name inside the Dial - Gift from my father
3- 41 mm Roman Dail Azurro blue date just 2011. Bought for 6200$ from local AD as well.

I am expecting new Silver award snoopy hopefully in one month time and yellow dial Rolex OP as well.

Thinking to get my first AP and given the size of my wrist I see 15450 is the best.

My name has been on the list for few months but I dont see it happening anytime soon and with the recent increase of prices the grey market price has shoot from 27000$ to 31000$

I believe the watch currently goes for 21700$ at my local AD. So we are talking about 10k $ which Actually I can buy another watch with it ..
However if I settle from the grey dial I can get it for 2k premium only !

Want you advise wither its worth it or should I wait ? and what is your experiences with AD waiting list specially for this watch 37mm which supposedly to be less in demand in comparison to 41mm

regards,

Salem from Dubai

I expect that your trying to get a blue dial 15450 given the premiums.

This is definitely a hard one to get and the premium reflects that. No history with said AD will mean 1 year+ if ever, unless you keep close contact and pester them in that 1 year+.

You should definitely try on the grey dial and see if it sings to you, it is beautiful as well, if not then just hold out for the blue, either waiting and playing the “game” or pay the premium for instant gratification.

Good luck!

Actually Grey and White dial look pretty good also and it's easier to get at the boutique, you might have to wait for 2-3 months.

If you really want blue dial only, you might have to go grey market or wait for 6-12 months at the boutique.

Color of dial is personal preference, you should buy only the one that you really like it.

Set a wait time limit, 6 months or 1 year and then if no watch comes go grey.

You first have to decide what your time is worth, but it's one way to go. Personally, I'd get exactly what you want right away .

I think this is an excellent route. I do the same. I would recommend the same for any non bespoke watch.
