Be Aware of Vintagerlx.com

So while Following the company Vintagerlx on Instagram I saw they posted a bezel needed for my 72' 5513 Sub. I messaged the company and asked how much, they responded and wanted 1500 for the Bezel without the insert. I left it at that and was not going to pay that ridiculous amount just for a bezel. So now a few weeks later I see the same bezel Assembly listed for $750.oo usd. I then messaged the company again. Basically as soon as I asked when he quoted me such a ridiculous price and what made the bezel so expensive and different then this bezel I was BLOCKED and removed from their account.

I'm not sure what to make of this but it is horrible business educate, and why was I removed? Is there something to hide because you tried ripping me off, and I didn't fall for it? It left a horrible impression on me.

There is a screen shot of the newly posted bezel assembly with the price in the description prior to me getting blocked from the account.

vin-tager-lx.......sounds like a remedy for a std.

I wouldn't be paying that kinda money for what looks like worn out scrapped parts, and his business ethic towards you sounds atrocious.

Move along now...

Yeah after I was quoted 1500 I didn't plan on it, but figured I'd ask since these are hard to come by. The sad part is that they have like 80K + people that follow them.

Rare and hard to find parts can be expensive. Scott is a very honest guy highly doubt he needs any money or would rip anybody off. Trade in confidence with him.

But why quote me 1500 when I prob would have bought in for a fairer price, then a week or so later drop the price by half to 750? Then when I question him block me? That makes no sense and doesn't sound fair or honest.

There's many ways to get in trouble with website rules whether they are Instagram rules or TRF.

For example, we don't bring disputes from other websites to TRF...not a rant, just sharing in the spirit of the community and communication.

Scott is a good guy and would not try and harm anyone. Any discussions can probably be handled offline and if you don't agree then kindly walk away. I am limited to what I know about this but just speaking on my own relations with him.

I've done many deals with Scott and he is a top notch guy and well versed in Vintage Rolex Subs, Sea-Dwellers etc. If the first bezel assembly was not the exact same as the second it could mean a difference in price. With these type of hard to find parts and watches the slightest little thing can make the difference of hundreds if not thousands of dollars. You have to make sure you're comparing apples to apples !

If I see something posted for more then I think it's worth, I just move on and look elsewhere.
