Finally settled down...

After having owned a few APs I think the original one that started it all is still the best. The proportions and dial layout are second to none.

I’ve previously owned and sold a ROO black themes, a ROO black diver, a white dial 15400, a blue dial 15300, a blue dial 26331st, a ROO Navy and a ROO 26480ti. Yes it’s been a bumpy ride but worth the end result.

Wow, congrats.. You mean you have owned and sold those pieces you had mentioned and in the end, the boutique granted you 15202st after spending that kind of money?

The redeeming trait of the 15202, which makes it worth struggling with the date function and everything involved with the crown, is that if you own this one AP, you never have to buy another.

How would you rank the other ones you've owned?

Gorgeous!

Quintessential AP. As good as it gets IMO. Would love to add the WG and or RG iteration.

What are the issues with the "date function and everything involved with the crown"?

Not so quick date change in a PIA, 10-2-10-2-10-2

i forgot to add... i also owned the steel rubber clad for awhile!

1. black themes ROO -versatile and handsome looking. i still miss it sometimes!
2. 15300 - nice size and layout, but i found the blue dial a bit lacklustre as compared to the 15202. 15202 dial is more 'alive'
3. black diver - i had the previous 'wet' black dial which i liked. but i didn't really like the asymmetry of the additional pusher at 10 o clock. a bit too sporty and not as versatile
4. navy ROO - nice and sporty.
5. rubberclad
6. 26331ST - too big for me. somehow wears bigger than an ROO possibly due to the metal bracelet
7. 15400 white dial - somehow the dial proportions look a bit 'off' to me. also too big for me i found.

i started buying watches in 2012 before the crazy prices started. you could walk into a boutique and buy a 15202 for SGD $30k+ or even less i think.

i only bought the black themes brand new from a boutique with a 20%+5% discount. the rest were preowned from reputable grey dealers.

As ap1 stated, not so quick change date, in fact it is not a quick change date at all. Additionally, you really need a special tool to wind the crown, and try setting the time without accidentally pushing in the crown.
That said, I wouldn't trade my 15202st, for any other AP.

Congratulations, awesome watch. I keep mine on my wrist or a winder to avoid the setting debacle. Wear it in good health.

Interesting. Thank you all for the info. I was unaware of those issues as I have never handled one of these.

Just buy a watch winder, problem solved.

The 15202 is a fantastic looking watch and, after all, that's really what it's all about.
