Not as cheap as a seiko, but I love Oris. Their pilot watches make some great beaters for all purpose usage. I have a bc3 advanced and do most things rough with it on.

Every time the term “beaters” is brought up on TRF, it make me chuckle inside !

A beater watch to me, is one to use while working in the yard, clearing land, pouring concrete, welding in the shop, framing a house, working on a car, etc............. Within a few posts of most “beater” threads, wristshots of PM luxury watches beside a pool in the Riviera, or a Submariner that’s never even been splashed with a drop of water wristshot in a craft brewery, start appearing. All proclaiming the abuse, and rugged superiority of said watches ................ really ?

So, I guess the term “beater” is extremely subjective and means appropriate.

Seiko for me !

OP specifies "cheap" but "individual" so my vote goes to Obaku.

but in a more expensive watch I like Rado.
