Baume & Mercier
I wandered into Jared (never been there before) because they are an Omega dealer and I am looking for a watch on a strap. I happened to see this..
http://www.baume-and-mercier.com/col...on/Square-8685 Which they have as a "Vault Value" which means that it is half retail so it would be $1250 plus tax. As I am not familiar with Baume & Mercier, I thought I would ask here. Has anyone had any experiences with these watches? The Jared girl went on about 100% Swiss, 6th oldest watchmaker on earth, etc, etc, etc but I am not familiar with them. |

Richemont group brand, mostly standard Eta and Valjoux movements. Classy but IMO generic designs.
1250 seems reasonable if you really like it. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will chime in because this is all I know.

I don't know much about B&M but they have some nice looking 18k models on leather straps . . . think I'm going to have to learn more about this brand.

I've got a B&M Classima Executive with the dial appeture so you can see the balance wheel at work. As mentioned they use standard ETA / Valjoux movements so whilst unexeptional in terms of decoration they are rock solid, dependable and cheap and easy to service. Mine keeps time within COSC standards and the watch looks fantastic. Guilloced dial and blued steel hands make it look much pricier than it actually ishttp://www.rolexforums.com/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif

Glad to hear you like your Classima - seems like they have a lot of nice looking choices in that line.

I have had two over the years.
Over priced. One was a chrono and it always had issues. HORRID resale. I understand quality has improved somewhat since then but Id say unless you love it and know its a keeper skip it.
