Thanks. The bracelet is from 1954 and is tapered, so it's not precisely period-correct, but what the hey...

that is a beautiful watch. the next rolex i want is a 40s 2940 bubbleback. i have seen a gorgeous one on watchguru.com but its £35,000 as owned by someone in the real great escape. if i ever win the lottery i will buy it.

£35,000 for a 2940? Sounds like wishful thinking. This one (all original and I believe unpolished) cost about $1700 a couple of years ago, then another $700 for a Bob Ridley spa/service.
Now that this thread was resurrected, I suppose I should wear it tomorrow!
