I think the TT SD43 is a great looking watch. Thing is, I think you need the personality and perhaps wrist size to wear it. The SD43 is already a statement piece. This TT is next-level statement piece.

I need a minimum of a 42mm as I have almost a 9inch wrist. I’m very limited in my options with Rolex, which is a shame. At some point I will have to start my AP collection though which is a positive

Its not for me, however it is, in my opinion, by far the best looking YG/SS TT watch Rolex currently manufactures.

Far better looking proportionally than the TT sub.

I looked a TT SD in my AD the other day (already allocated for another customer and this AD’s first delivery) and while it was nicer in the flesh than it appears in the pictures - it was still too blingy for me. The gold ‘Sea Dweller’ text is nice, and the gold is less ‘yellow’ in the flesh. But at >£12k it felt ‘toppy’.

I prefer my SD43 and SD4K, but I guess that is why i’m not trying to buy one.

When I first saw the release photos the day before Baselworld 2019 this, TT Seadweller, was the one watch where I thought "I quite like that".

Of course then there was outrage from SS Dive watch community and I (foolishly) started to doubt my own taste for about 10 mins, before I had a quiet word with myself and said get a grip.

Maybe it is just my kind of watch as I also like the TT Sub and the the just discontinued TT GMT II. Rolex will have no problems shifting them and I really look forward to seeing one in the flesh.

In summary, yes a big fan.

I have nothing against it, it’s maybe not a purist diver but neither is a TT or 18k Submariner. The SD43 is a Submariner for guys with bigger wrists, that’s how I see it. Me? Too big for me, a 40mm Submariner fits me perfectly.

For more that we like to hear opinions in this forum there are some very wrong for me as the 6 digits are ugly watches or that the SD should not carry gold or cyclops and in the end they are wonderful if you like them My grail is the SS SD43 with Cyclops and exist a lot of cyclops hate around here. The TT sd43 is absolutly beautiful.

I like it and will check it out when it arrives. This will be a watch that I would not pay a penny above retail and might even wait it out for it to start to show up in the pre-owned market for less than retail. I am no longer a huge TT Fan but it is coming back around and I own the Tudor Black Bay TT with the champagne dial and wear it a lot. I am also going to buy the Tudor Black Bay Chrono TT on the Bund Band when it shows up. What I would really like to see is a SD43 in all YG. I would be a buyer on that.

Great comments and I agree totally with the opinion that it probably should not work on a Sea Dweller. I have no gold in my collection as I prefer Subs and adore Sea Dwellers. Where it comes into its own (at the moment) is it brings a bit of a change to the line up. My SD43 is awesome to wear, and of course the DRSD has the classic vintage look. Then the TT brings a new dimension to the range. Is it needed? probably not. Is it cool? IMHO yes oh yes and I NEVER thought I would ever be swayed by a TT.
Will it work in all gold? who knows but my opinion is don't try one on if you are unsure....it could sway you

PS, and I don't know if this is a good or bad thing, its the first of my watches my wife loves! and she is not a "bling" person go figure???

I'm generally not a huge fan of TT.

With the exception of root beer GMT master, either the vintage one (my preference) or the new one with red gold and ceramic.

And with now the exception of this sea dweller, which look I find really beautiful.

Some find it "stupid"? There is a long tradition of YG tool watches like YG submariners or GMT Masters after all... And I do not find them "stupid" but beautiful.

Everyone its taste I guess, no need to have hard words.

I'm not a fan of TT in general with the exception of the Bluesy which kind of works from a colour combo perspective, alas I don't like the supercase nor the 40mm size.

I own the SD43 myself and I'd love to try a Bluesy SD43 if Rolex were to release one, that'd be a very interesting piece. The black TT SD43 not so much.

To me, the SD43 was the answer to the Sub's "deficiencies" and so would a Bluesy SD43 be to the Sub Bluesy, as far as I'm concerned.

If you are a big guy and want some yellow gold, this is your watch. Most would love this watch alot more had it been blue/sunburst Super Bluesy. Even in the TT Sub line, the Bluesy is alot more popular over the black TT. All this is white noise as long as you like it.

I am a bit biased as my 16613LB was my one and only watch for many years. I have been generally open to the idea of two tone watch, but at the same time I don't like them all: some models are just more suited to the older generation and they just remind you of what your 80 year old grandpa used to wear... you just can't shake that image off your mind when you see them.

But there are beautiful examples of two tones and this one, SD43 TT, has really grown on me a lot faster than I thought. I consider it as a bling-a-licious version of the SD43.
