Advice needed 116179BLRO
Hi,
I have two options for a white gold 116179BLRO: 1) Box & papers, 5/2015, just polished and serviced by Rolex, no original 3 or 5 year warranty, scratch free in a plastic Rolex box for 27,5kEUR 2) Box & papers, year 2017, very good condition, warranty until 2022, not polished or serviced. Price 29,5kEUR. Which one to choose? Is there any visible changes e.g. in bezel colouring etc. between 2015 and 2017 like MK1 and MK2 of the new SS pepsi? |

No change in between those dates, so I would go for the serviced one from 2015, no harm in getting a discount!

Just one thing to check: the cyclop!
Make sure it is the correct magnification as the few first month of production gave some weak ratio, and the date would not fill much of the cyclop Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the tip! The cyclop seems fine in pictures. It is May 2015 production and I think production started already in 2014. And I have 14 days to return it should that be needed.

I`m not a friend of polished watches - it`s like a re-painted car! Its just not original anymore! Better patina than polishing!

Good point, that is my concern also. On the other hand if done properly by Rolex, it should be as good as new? And I would save two grand.

The difference between the two options is so small about 6% difference given the amount of money you're planning to spend, So I would definitely get the newer not polished one.

But you gonna find many in this forum who dont care about polishing or not - its more like a different philosophy! I neither like re-painted (vintage) cars, nor restored art works or polished watches! |

This whole "no polish" thing is getting out of hand. If properly refinished by Rolex the older one should be indistinguishable from new. Plus it will have a 2 year service warranty. How "very good" is the condition of the newer one? Any pictures? And bear in mind, that if a dealer is selling these, theres a 99% chance that the newer one has had a light polish/refinish before sale anyway.

Go for the full set and newest one.
It would be very hard to ever sell a PM watch without the papers. This 2K difference would not bother me one bit

+ 2K pounds for an additional year warranty? I'd go with the older recently serviced in one if it were me.
