Dd36 mop

Contemplating whether to go for the newly released WG day date 36 baguette diamond dial w/ mother of pearl or the white deconstructed roman dial in same reference 128239.

I’m attracted to the former but unsure if it’s perceived to be too feminine. Perhaps it’s subtle enough from a distance? Interested in what the consensus is. Do these pearl dials age poorly with time? Below is same dial on the 40. Thanks

I really like MOP dials but you will have some saying it’s “feminine”, particularly if the MOP has a pinkish hue.
I have 2 DD’s with deconstructed Romans so that’s where my preferences lie.

I think a white metal watch with a lighter dial like both of these looks good on someone with a darker complexion.

I’m more pale and ginger and I think this would be awful on me.

So depends on skin tone.

Most of timepieces are unisex. To me if I like it, I will wear it, I don't care what others think.

I like Meteorite dials but I do not like MOP dials for men

Looks great, not feminine at all, unisex. I prefer the MOP.

I was a fan of MOP back in the day, 90's-early 2000's. I had a YM with the MOP and sapphires and diamonds and a MOP Daytona. Really liked them at the time but once I moved on I have never considered one again. The new MOP looks nice but I would go with a a standard dial now. Just my thoughts.

Nice, however too ostentatious for me.

I prefer something more under the radar.

The MOP with baguettes was the star of a lackluster W&W for me.

Not too feminine, however I think it may look more distinctive in YG or RG.

YMMV...

If I’m honest I think they look a bit too feminine for my taste.

Take that with a grain of salt coming from a guy with a pony tail

Mother of pearl nacre doesn't change its properties in watch dials unless the seals degrade and water resistance is compromised over time. In humid climates that could allow microbes to colonize and affect the surface quite a bit.

As for the gender convo, pearls themselves aren't worn by men much. Nor is jewelry made from MOP. Diamond baguettes further mix the metaphor.

The Day-Date is a special model and I figure it'll be a low demand dial option.

Do you care about having a minute track on the edge of the dial? I do, and that’s why I’ve had to rule out the ombré, stone, and MOP dials.
