…which Rolex reference is unpopular? 3 options.

Following on from another thread, which of the following is the most unpopular?

I chose Air King. Don't have any access to real statistical data. However, it's time-only with no other "features" in a simple design. At least w/ the Milgauss you can tout its anti magnetism or check out the lightening bolt seconds hand.

I’m going with the DSSD. Size matters.

The Air King is the least appealing to me.

I like them all but the DSSD is too large for me.

The Air King was kicked around as the “entry level” Rolex way back since the late 80’s. It never got any respect even then and this is when we had Oysterquartz.

I personally do like the Air King, but I see why it's unpopular. Aside from being the most "entry level" watch, even more so than an OP, it doesn't have the casual elegance of the OP. It's neither dressy nor sporty. It just kind of exists. But I do like it for some odd reason.

I was always under the impression that the Milgauss was very unpopular. I kind of like the Air King. I nearly bought a blue dial one years ago. As for the DSSD, It’s too big, for me, but I don’t dislike it. I like the looks of the one with the colorful gradient dial.

I had an 1986 & still have a 1999 Air King, both with white dial & black Romans. I still like them.....a smaller classic Rolex...I don't care for the newer AK.

Least popular is the Yachtmaster II. While is has sailing oriented complications, the enormous YACHTMASTER II on the lower 1/3rd of the outer bezel is a bit too big for my Rolex design sensibilities.

DSSD-Blue & Z-Blue Milgauss compliment each other very well.

If I had to guess the least popular model I'd also go with the YMII but that's more an indication of personal preference. I have no evidence to support it.

Don’t like the poll idea, only promotes negativity and internet polls like this have no validity anyway.

Not sure where this thread is going? One person’s “unpopular” watch is another’s grail. There are several “popular” models I don’t like….

Personally, I try to focus on the positive.

I share the same sentiment However, I just purchased the new release Air King. It has a simple, yet elegant design in my opinion. The subtle green and yellow on the dial adds a nice touch.

It definitely doesn’t appeal to the masses, and I understand. Once you see it in person, and try it on, i think many people will change their mind about the AK. It’s a sleeper!

You have to access the forum directly to see the poll. If on Tapatalk, you won’t see it. I found that out the hard way, also, on another thread with a poll.

FYI, the Air King and Milgauss have identical case and movement.

Flawed poll on the DSSD, imo. The JC sets itself apart.

Jose, please excuse my comment. A Rolex watch is desirable at baseline no matter what model and I didn't mean anything disparaging

This might seem negative to some but it was no way intended to be. As I said from the outset, it was a follow up from another thread which was discussing these watches in general, without specific references or years being mentioned.
