Are you sure that's right for the steel Peter? The platinum should in theory be about a third more heavy than the gold which should be 30-40% heavier than steel.

Anyway, enough theory, I just weighed my Novelty Platinum and it weighs 242g.

By reference my titanium RM011 weighs 112g.

Wow how sad am I!?

Sorry I am not sure on the exact weight but I think it is about 10% heavier than RG.
The weight is heavy but so comfortable!!! And really suits the 44mm.
I don't think I will ever buy another sports watch unless it dates....Which I don't think it will.
The other thing about platinum which I really love is how durable it is.
My only other comment is that unlike the Rolex Deepsea (which I have owned previously) the weight of the watch does not make it top heavy and it doesn't move around on the wrist like the Deepsea did. I think this is partly due to the tang but I think AP have really shot the lights out with this one.
Just my thoughts

Just weight it with my scale, it's 173.3 gr.
Deep sea is 220 gr with bracellet
44 mm Platinum 242 gr strap only, wow!!!

Wow interesting, would have thought the plat would be a lot more than 50% heavier than steel!
