Popularity of Speedmaster Moonphase.

Hello all.

So, Omega has about 234 different Speedmasters (sarcasm). Including the Speedmaster Master Chronometer Co-Axial Moonphase Chronograph. Model number 304.30.44.52.01.001. Which I have.

I've had it for sale a while and no real bites. It's priced to wear, not flip.

Guess it's just a niche item?

Curious what you all think.

I hear you. Curious, have you had a chance to try one on? To me, doesn't wear noticable larger than a 40mm Sub or a 41mm Tudor Panda. It is larger though, no doubt. Multiple complications will do that.

It’s a great watch - I own the one with the green ceramic bezel insert and that is green and gold, with a leather strap.

304.23.44.52.06.001

I absolutely adore the watch, but I knew buying it that it would be one to keep and treasure. Demand for that family of references is quite muted, which is sad because it is one of Omega’s hidden treasures. All of the moonphases are really amazing, and I absolutely adore mine.

It is not however a reference one can easily sell without giving a significant discount (maybe 50% plus).

Quite sad though because it is honestly one of the most amazing references out there.

I sold mine because it's just too thick. It's also a big watch. And there's no hype around it whatsoever. So if a buyer really wants this watch, there's going to be tons of sellers who are willing to negotiate.

Everything can be sold if it's the right price. WatchMaxx has brand new one for $8720 and you're listing for about $1k below and as the description said there are scratches so to polish would cost buyer some money. Maybe polish to retail first and then try to sell? Either way good luck!

Good idea perhaps. The only couple of small marks are on the clasp. The rest of the watch is literally perfect.

Took your advice. Back to perfect.

People want to pay a low enough price so that they don't lose money if and, or when they sell the watch.

You have it priced too high. Bought mine for $6,500 and sold for less. Is what it is.

It's a big watch with a limited number of folks who want one. Loved mine but eventually the negatives outweighed the positives and off it went.

Good luck selling it OP; I love mine and I hope that someone buys yours and loves it too! Once it’s sold what’s replacing it?
