Incoming Grail: The Green Dragon

Hi all,

I’m glad to finally announce that AP has finally done right by me and allocated a grail piece to me. The Code 11:59 SS Green Chrono

I know they have been holding out on me over the last few years by stuffing me several other pieces… before surprising me with the awesome piece

There is so much going for this little watch from what I would describe as a thick-salami-shaped Case, to the Doppler effect dial to the genuinely gorgeous chapter ring. As I sit here intoxicated on my couch, the internal curvature Versailles-hall-of-Mirror effect finally makes sense as after several drinks, one seem to be able to focus the diffraction of the image into one intensified and clarified image

The road to this grail watch has not been easy..

AP has sold me watches with minimal dial material with hardly any legibility in what many would name de-boned carcass. They even had the audacity to not include a dial on the watch. But fine… I thought.. as long as I got my Code

Toyed with my feelings with multiple miniature 39mm royal oaks that they claimed to be Jumbo in size,

And also successfully confounded me with a green iteration of the RO but somehow had weird “50” numerals on the rotors

Discouraged but not defeated, I held on, offering dollar after dollar of my pay check to the watchmaking gods of Le Brassus, knowing good things will happen to those that wait.

Alas, I persevered and finally emerged with this future heirloom that will be passed on in my family for a long time

Wishing everyone the best, and happy Watch Hunting!

So glad you were able to persevere. Especially since you were sold a dial'less piece

Congrats on the code

The best part is that you could have written this just the same had you not had to „endure“ that hardship :) it’s a fantastic watch which I trust fits very well into what sound like quite the AP collection
