I can't see Rolex changing its practices based on this case, but they really do operate under unfair commercial practices. They restrict parts supplies so customers often have little choice but to send their watch to Rolex and then Rolex refuses to do partial repairs and insists on unnecessary services. They have owners over a barrel.

Interesting article in that link. (apologies, if it's old news)

Interesting. Curious how Rolex demands an overhaul for a watch that simply requires a bracelet fix.

Mercedes is the same in the US. They require annual diagnostics updates that they charge an astronomical fee to license, plus specialized tools, knowing that an independent could not be profitable with that kind of annual buy in cost. Only a shop with the volume of a dealership can afford to service a MB.

Luxury goods makers have refined the life cycle service capture with the precision of a swiss watch.

Good news,
Once this becomes well known in the EU Rolex has no choice but to follow the ruling which means they will have to change policies or fear the wrath of the EU.
That never ends well for a company, not for Apple neither for Rolex.

Commercial businesses policies are not above law.

Gassan seems far less the bad guy in this than Rolex.
