I suspect Rolex produce less of the BLRO because they can’t get it consistently right. A member posted an incoming today and that BLRO looks right. All the ones I’ve seen in person, were pink and purple. Kept me away from the BLRO. My AD knows to only call if it’s the right BLRO with my name on it.

Both the BLNR and the BLRO are great watches and different enough for me to own both. I really like the wear on the Jubilee Bracelet and the color variation on the BLRO's is fine with me. Lists are fine if you want to wait.

Not hearsay. Someone posted it here in a recent thread. The whole bezel lit up red. Do a forum search. I’m not going to dig it up. But common sense answers this. I understand someone drops 15k in a 10k watch and wants to view it is perfect, and that may distort ones perception via cognitive dissonance but to the eye it’s clearly not red, it’s pastel and a combination of red/purple/pink. You don’t in all seriousness think the Pepsi colors are actual red? I hope folks are not that delusional. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Jesus! I bought my brand new “Coke” GMT Master II Stainless brand new (Oyster Bracelet), from Tourneau Corner, on 5th Ave, NYC for $3800 in 5/2002, If I knew, I would have bought 3 more and tucked them away.

No problem. But it looks cool, but explains why if they continue to use that mode of laying blue on top red, it will never be pure. And that’s ok, to each his own. My point is just that if I’m plunking down 10k or more close or close enough does not cut it for me. I think Rolex gets a pass on things because people will snap them up even if the bezel was puke green, that other brands would not get away with. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Maybe there will be a time in the future when a chemist comes up with a new formula to yield a better color blue - then these indigo Pepsi’s will be considered Mark 1’s. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Likely. I can’t see Rolex sticking with the current formula. They always evolve, and that will be slow, lest people think the crown made a mistake by rushing so called technology to the market that they did not have mastered. This way they can say, we meant to have pink/purple/reddish bezels. What they should have done is did the work and created their own proprietary material that they could get more accurate colors and left 40 year old ceramics in the past. OP was given the same information as I was AD said the off colors of the Pepsi is having people decline them in favor of the Batman. The Bezel color on the BLNR is prefect but the BLRO has a pink and purple tint which I had seen myself.

The Blue / Black 'Batman' has a very attractive, clean and deep blue while the 'Pepsi' combo-color bez has a desaturated 'soft reddish/purple appearance which some dislike. Some variants seem much more accurate 'colorimetry-wise', but do not look like the red and blue applied to an aluminum bezel reminiscent of a 5 digit GMT. Obviously, it must be technically challenging to manufacture a ceramic bezel featuring blue and red. Do the colors look the same as a 5 digit GMT? Of course not. Should the reference be appreciated on it's own merits - absolutely. As mentioned, consider the color scheme an attribute exclusive the 6 digit GMT. Personally, I think a company like Rolex did the best they could with the current state of the art technology. If there's one organization that looks, strives and ultimately delivers quality improvements, it's Rolex. Heck, ain't that why we're here on TRF talkin' about this stuff? So... please forgive me if u think I’m being stupid, I’ve always thought that the bi-color bezel of the GMT 2 was 2 pieces of ceramic from different colors putting together..... judging by the full red effect under UV light, this is actually a chemical reaction that applied on a single colored ceramic to form the bi-color effect, am I correct?

Without a doubt that Pepsi is way harder to get than batgirl. The grey market price reflect it. I also think batgirl looks better but if I had to choose which one to buy, I get Pepsi because more rare and harder to get

These people that talk about the "list" as if it is fake news, or some kind of "hoax" crack me up as if they are smarter than everybody else. Maybe that is the case in some AD's as I tried several locations in NE Ohio and they shared they do not have a list, but I am living proof that the list works as I have gotten two GMT's by being on the list. The first one (the CHNR) I purchased by getting on a list with no purchase history.
