I actually wouldn’t say that the wait time is cut and dry. When I paid the deposit, they just told me that it would be early 2019. In general, I would say AP’s wait list process is just as opaque as other brands. When I ask about certain watches, the Boutique usually only tells me a very vague time frame and that it all depends on the allocations from HQ, which they don’t control. I was also told that they no longer have priority “lists” and they will just take down the info for people who are interested in a watch. A year ago, they would say you are #x on the list. This tells me that the Boutiques now have more flexibility on how they allocate the in-demand pieces, like offering them to VIPs or someone buying one of the higher end pieces first. We all know ADs and Boutiques do this anyways, so I guess in this way, they are being more upfront about things.
