Italian Alps or Dolomites??

Hi TRFers!

I am spoilt for choice and like many situations in life, I can't have the luxury of the best of both choices. I can only choose to spend 3 days in either the italian alps (NW Italy) or dolomites (NE Italy).

Yes, I could possibly do both in 3 days but I do do not want to rush from point to point without really pausing to enjoy the beauty of those areas. I will also be spending half to a full day biking up some of the epic climbs. I want to use the remaining days to explore the towns or just soak up the local culture, cuisine and sights.

For those who have had the luxury of experiencing both places, which section of italy would you recommend for a visit in mid Sept? NW alps or NE dolomites? Thanks in advance!!!

If you HAVE to choose, the Dolomites, as they are so unique and special (the NW Italian Alps having the visual feel of France and Switzerland).

3 days is short, but I'd definitely go to the Dolomites.

Yeah unfortunately 3 days was really too short. No time for lake Garda but immersed myself in the Dolomites, Tyrol and Innsbruck! Thanks trf!

Garda is not fantastic IMO, there are nicer and less crowded locations in North Italy.

Glad you had a fun few days
