New addiction
I've been looking at Panerai for some years, and love the way it is subtle and simple, yet elegant. Never had chance to pull a trigger on for about 2 years, finally saw DavidSW had one for sale 2 weeks ago and i couldn't pass on the deal.
it's a Pam 50 and i went ahead to order the rubber strap and buckle from the boutique and keep the stainless strap in the case since all my other watches are in SS band, i like the rubber strap being more causal and sporty. here are 2 pictures i took... haven't pick up my SLR for quite sometime and i guess these will be my warm up shots again for the photo season.. enjoy! Thanks DavidSW! |

Excellent choice. I love the inverted cyclops. It balances out the dial. The rubber strap is very comfortable especially on the tang buckle.

thanks for the kind words. this is my first Pam and i have a small wrist, 6.25". so a 40mm is a safe bet. after 3 days of wearing it, i do see myself in a 42mm 392 in the future =)

Congrats!! Nice watch. Welcome to the madness.
Re: the 392, just be aware that it is thicker and wears differently. If it fits, it's a solid choice. |

i think i made a right path to step into the darkside. even though the Panerai feels more of a top heavy watch compare to a all-around weight Rolex, i feel i will wear this more often than my Exp II polar. This looks more casual and blend in to my outfit better. |

Nice choice, if I can give you one advice try 44mm I also have small wrists and the 1950 233 fits fine, as well as the 82, both are 44mm, you get used to the size very quickly, and Pam's are made to be worn big.

The Panerai has ruined me with wearing my other bracelet watches. Its so comfortable, yet its still a big powerfull watch. The best part of all is.....NOTHING else looks like a Panerai or has that sexy Italian style.

I would agree that the 44mm 233 is a good choice for a smaller wrist if you want a 1950 case. The hand wind 8 day movement allows for a slimmer case and I found the 233 wore a lot more comfortably than the 312 on my 7" wrist. Plus you get the domed crystal which I love. Actually, the 47mm 372 wears better on my wrist than the 312.

Congrats on the new purchase...great selection for a first time PAM owner!!This was my first Panerai as well and after I got accustomed to the 40MM I traded it towards a 44MM (112)...then added a second (233). I am now looking forward to adding my first 47MM (422).

Updated after a year
after a year of the 050 ownership... decided to make some changes... due to my skinny 6.25" wrist, tried a few times on different 44mm size, it doesn't look right to me, so ended up i decided on a 42. traded the 050 and acquired a new 392. love the 1950 case, it wears more comfortable than my 050. i immediately swapped my favorite Antique Maduro Calfskin back on from the 050. the best part, the sandwich dial is beautiful! |
