Advice: PAM111, 422, 911, 372

Just wanted some advice on my first and only panerai. Currently I have a 16610lv, 16570 Polar, Omega Speedy Tuesday 1, and Tagheuer Aquaracer. I have found a PAM 111 box and papers with original receipt for $4,300 USD.

Given it will be my only panerai should I jump on it, given its a classic PAM and easily serviceable and it comes with 4 straps? I thought it maybe better option given the 372, 422 are 47mm. I kinda like the 44mm sizing for my 7 inch flat wrist as well.

Ideally I would like a panerai PAM911 but I see those are very expensive and going for $11,000 to $13,000USD which is a lot for a panerai. Original MRSP on those were $6,600USD, and going for a good premium.

Appreciate the comments and feedback.

911 is a beauty, but you have to LOVE it for that price, IMHO.

For me, I would go 111. But that’s also because I like the Bettarini case and 44 size.

That being said, 372 with plexi is very nice.

I can get a pam422 for $1,000 more USD then a PAM111, given the Pam422 was a lot more expensive at MRSP, it’s tempting.

I went w the 111 as my first & love it. I do hear a lot of good things on the 372 which is brought up in many previous discussions. And $4300 is a pretty decent deal for a complete set with 4 straps too.

I think the 111 is a great 1st Panerai. Panerai is a sickness so don’t be surprised how much you like it and get sucked into our little cult. Then your taste will develop into other levels and lines of Panerai. 1st Panerai should be simple and classic. FYI..that is great price.

IMHO if it’s your one and only you want to go 47mm and the 372 wins

I have the same size wrist and 47 mm wears perfectly

Another reason I chose the 111 as my first other than the aloof is the seconds hand. I did read somewhere these are rated at COSC due to having a seconds hand. Plus I like watching the seconds hand move to show the movement is in operation.

Going with the Pam 111, it’s a full set with original receipt, box and papers. Classic Case and Reliable movement as well. Comes with 2 OEM Rubber, Leather and Suede Strap.

I’m going to go against everyone else and suggest you avoid the 111. I had one for several months and it turned me off the brand for several years. For your first Panerai, I suggest jumping in with the 372. It’s one of the best.

Also, the idea that you can’t wear 47mm because your wrist is “small” is silly. I wear a 47mm submersible and my wrist is 6.0” on the dot. It looks great.

I agree. The cushion case is so much nicer than the tuna can. 422 or 372 (S and later if you want sapphire)

I chose 422 over 372 as I needed a seconds hand. Love the 422.

Another vote for the 422, love it. The case is very sensual and curvy. My first pam was a 312 but sold that and eventually bought this 422. This thread needs more pics!

Pam 422. Power reserve on the back is very useful.

I really wanted matte green dial, which Panerai has mastered, but a Luminor. So thought 911 was my only option, but much prefer the 1950 case. And so and behold I found the 1056, a limited edition green dial with a GMT function as well. Can’t tell you how happy I am with it, just stunning to look at in the 1950 case, dial and gold hands.

Are the hand set on the 372 and 422 the same. They look smaller on the 372 for some reason or maybe it's just the photographs online, I've seen the 372 in person but never both side by side.
