Questions on Panerai
After collecting some Rolex and a few Breitling, I have become very interested in Panerai and have been going through the website. Questions:
1) Does the crown guard ever become uncomfortable? 2) Having about a 7in wrist, what would be an appropriate size? I see there are a few models at 38 and 40mm, but not many. They seem to wear large, do you think 42 or 44 is pushing it given my wrist size? My Breitlings are 42 and 43mm All Rolex are 41 and smaller. Finally, how tall are these watches? The website does not seem to give the height dimensions. All my current watches are under 13mm. Thanks for your help |

I have the same collections as you(add Omega) Crown guard is not a issue for me, really like the feature. As far as size goes, 42, 44 or 45 will work well for you. I have a 6.75" wrist and choose the 42(bracelet) and really love it. I tried the 44 and 45 on a strap and they work just as well.
As far as thickness, It all depends on the movement. I have the P9010 in mine with the display case back. It wears very thin. No issues slipping under a cuff. Same with the 8 day manual wind. Go try it on and see. It is now my go to watch for daily wear. If you have a 42mm Super Ocean (not chronograph) It wears about the same to me. Hope this helps! Fantastic watches.

I have a 7" flat wrist and find that my 44mm Luminors wear better than my ceramic sub due to the flat caseback. With a 7" wrist you should be fine with 47mm models.

1. No
2. Best bet is to try a few on your wrist.

Here's what a 47mm Radiomir looks like on a flat ,7" wrist.
As mentioned above, due to the flat caseback they are extremely comfortable (IMO). This watch measures 57mm lug to lug and is 16mm thick. Don't let the dimensions be your guide though ... it wears very comfortably (much more so than the DSSD or SD43), again, IMHO 20191101_142800.jpg20190807_074718.jpg20210302_065310.jpg Sent from my SM-G960W using Tapatalk |

44 mm is ideal I think. I changed this one up adding a deployment with correct fitting
strap. Pretty much my ideal Panerai ... matte green dial with gold hands (most important to me, as nobody does green like Panerai) but also with GMT function and date.

44mm with crown guard should be fine for u. It’s the perfect panerai size, imo.
47mm without crown should also be fine for u, if u have flat wrist No, the crown guard does not make it uncomfortable. Ymmv. I have both 44 and 47. Wrist is 7.25”.

I have a six and a half inch wrist. And I wear a 1312. This watch is my absolute limit at 44mm. I wear other watches at 40mm and smaller. But the PAM is really comfortable and an easy watch to carry.

1) never experienced discomfort with the crown guards.
2) I would start with 44mm as others have said. My wrist is just under 7 (about in between 6.75 and 7) and I wear a 44mm just fine. They are large but they wear super well in my opinion. 233 would be my recommendation, unless you want something simpler, then a 111 or 112 for good entry point. Goodluck! |

6.75” wrist here, I can’t feel the crown guard in any position and the 44mm fits on my sloping wrist flawlessly. It’s counterintuitive, because of its size it doesn’t roll towards 12 on my wrist like smaller watches do. This watch is the perfect size for my 6.75” wrist.
