Now that's an electric car I can actually say I like. Very stylish and somehow even sounds nice compared to others I've heard (or lack there of). This will be a big hit and the beginning of many cool things to come.

I've heard that there is a waiting list in any Porsche dealer for Taycan.

I'm sick and tired of Rolex and Patek waiting lists. And now this??

Another Porsche four door. Big too. And it's electric. Sure is fast. I'm sure it's great really.
Beep whir hum...
Clearly I'm not the intended target market for cars like this.

Of all electric cars this is in my opinion the best one. Im sure the fit and finish on the inside will be nice too, unlike Tesla.

It is meant to compete with Audi and Tesla. I get it but it is a different segment.

I don’t have to have anything that badly to play the waiting list games or buy two to get the car/watch I really want.

Looks like anything that Porsche touches becomes gold. When are they going to make a 7 seater? :D

Only thing I don't like are the headlights. Looks froggish... But very nice to see others joining the electric market.

Charging is supposedly impressive, 4 minute charge gives you a range of 100 kilometres!

its nice,

a general EV question though,

with all the worldwide health and safety legislation regarding car design etc (example, pop-up headlights are illegal on new cars) how can it be ok to build cars that are silent, putting pedestrians in danger when you obviously cant hear them coming?

How is it that something as fundamental and very real as this, is ok to ignore, but a square shaped headlight is considered a danger to a pedestrian?

My ears are crucial to my safety.

I think there’s a lot of stickers around the headlights and rear lights.
The car looks stunning and I can’t wait for the affordable entry level models to be released.

I wouldn't say electric cars are silent. My wife has an X5 Hybrid, and it's certainly not silent when she runs on battery power. I'd say a small VW Lupo (petrol) is making less of a sound than our X5 hybrid on battery.

My ears are crucial to my safety.

I think even nowadays compared to the 70s, you don't hear the engine before hearing the tire noise....The exception being muscle cars and trucks with their intentionally noisy exhausts.

I know electric is the future, but I'm a bit sad knowing that the sound of a motor will be removed from the whole car/motorcycle experience. That's half the fun of it!

I believe they are now engineering a low hum (referenced in the video as he initially drives off the line) to alert deaf pedestrians of the vehicle presence. Unfortunately, it wont protect the car’s owner from idiots texting with their headphones on from jumping out in front of their car.

For the most part, I really like it. However, I am not an electric car guy.

If I was in the market, this would be at the top of my list.

have you driven an electric vehicle? I must say, it was the most pleasant experience i've had in quite sometime. no shifting, quiet and the feel of being blasted into warp speed is wild.

when an electric car can do 500 miles on a charge in non optimum conditions, and that charge can take a few minutes, when it's motor and batteries can last many years, and when its at a price comparable to a petrol car, then its something i will definitely consider.

To me its all a rich mans game, i saw that electric lotus last week, a millionaires toy, whats the point, its all about getting it to the masses, and after at least 20 years of trying they still cant, and these cars still burn natures resources, just somewhere else though.

But yes, i like the car, i think aspects of it are incredible.
