Will Rolex allow to buy the new Daytona OF Clasp?
So I was lucky enough to get, a few months before the new models, the OF Paul Newman Dial, with the lovely red chronograph hands and no ring around the bezel.
I love the watch, it the favorite in my collection, a grail. Thing is, OF adjustability is limited, and although with easylink I managed a good fit, no wonder Rolex equipped the new ones with glidelock, as they did with the Rose Gold OF Yatch Master I don't have now direct contact with my AD, and was wondering if you think or know of previous cases if I could buy just the Yellow Gold clasp with glidelock to retrofit... I also reckon it will not be cheap, but ready to go for it for the added confort! Thanks! |

You should reach out to the closest Rolex Service Center, they should be able to advise!

Rolex probably won't. You'll have to find it secondary.

LOL Rolex is so smart that most parts on newer models cannot be retrofitted to an older model. Want the upgraded change you have to buy a new watch.

Do you change the number of links on your watch often?
The glide lock on the new Daytona OF seems nice, but I actually don’t think it’s necessary. Fit on mine is great, and easylink takes care of the wrist swell. Plus if you sized it with the clasp in the middle position, you can easily adjust it up or down a position without changing the OF strap. |

The jury's still out on this one. As mentioned above, there are questions regarding fitment and, of course, the ever pervading Rolex 'policy' that would allow one to do this even if it does fit.
So, I'm just waiting and watching to see what happens. Agreed it would be a game changer if it happens, but...if I had to say one way or another right now, I'd probably say no. |

My guess is they won’t sell you one unless your reference came with it.

Sorry but why… seems like a waste.
Get the right size OF strap and use the easy link when needed and call it a day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
