Vintage Rolex Chrono- please help
Dear All,
Hope somebody can just confirm my doubts. I am interested to buying a Vintage Rolex Chrono and came across this (no papers obviously). I believe it is a "put together" but I would appreciate your take. I think the dial was of a different watch and they painted the Rolex logo on it. I say that because, based on my researches, Rolex has never used the word "non magnetic", rather "anti-magnetic". The movement seems the same that most of the Swiss companies would use on their Chronos, Including Rolex, but I do not see any Rolex logo on it. What do you think? Best Max |

It certainly looks like a put together watch, not only because of the dial inconsistencies you have pointed out. The numbers on the outside of the case back are odd; I'm guessing the 1010 40 is the model number and I don't think that has ever been a Rolex model.
The movement was used in a lot of chronographs and so this watch might be a Chronographe Suisse or any of the other similar makes dressed up with a repainted dial to try and pass it off as a Rolex. |

FWIW, the movement appears to be a Valjoux 22.
