WOLF Axis Winder Cushion

Hey,

got a new Wolf Axis Winder. It looks fantastic and all but I can't seem to use it due to the dynamic cuff cushions being too big for me to get my watches on. I have a little under 7inch wrist.

Anyone else have an issue like this? Extremely frustrated....

Is it because the cushions will not compress enough or the cushions pop out of the rotating sleeves once the watches are in them?

I have similar wrist size and have had no problem at all. Have you watched this video to see if it helps?:

I have the triple winder and I usually just slide the watch (bracelet locked) on the cuff then squeeze the cuff with my fingertips and guide the watch toward the center by just lightly shaking it. Once the watch is in the middle I let go of the cuff and let it expand into the bracelet.

it is because the cushion will not compress enough. I know there are three sizes to the dynamic.

The petite - which is just the base (which too small and the watch moves around)

The middle -

The large - too big watch cannot fit on it - cannot even close it onto the pillow

Yup,

I cannot compress the pillow enough. I have the Wolf Axis winder. I cannot get a watch over the cushion and close it. Its crazy, even when I compress it it won't work.

Had the same issue. Actually spoke with Wolf and they were of no help!

Ultimately I chose to cut the cushion cover so that I could get to the foam inside. Cut about 1/4 inch off of the foam and then used a glue gun to put the cover back together. Took about 5 minutes per cushion (with my wife's assistance!).

Absolutely ridiculous that I had to do this given the price of the winder, but it now holds my watches without me battling to get the watches on or worrying that I'm stretching my bracelets.

Dang! By chance do you have a photo of what yours looks like now? I was thinking that I would have to do that.

How did you take off the back cover?

do you have a photo of what the smaller one looks like?

I sent WOLF an email about this and they said they recommend using the medium option. They said they do not carry an in between cuff size as their DYNAMIC CUFF provides alternate options for different sized wrists

I have the same size wrist that you do and currently have 8 Rolexes on the winder(YMII's, GMTII, etc.) and have no problems with the cushions compressing enough to get the watch closed without worrying about stretching the band. I do have a Panerai that is a bit more difficult but the band is leather and quite wide. I have used Wolf for about 30 years and just never had a problem...wish I could help you!

I know a lot of people are saying they haven't had issues. Neither my sub or GMTII are able to get on the cushion. It could be the cushion for the Axis Winder that is at issue.

Mine is a Roadster 8 piece and when new it took a while for the cushions to compress enough to make it a bit easier to get the watch on it...but, over time, it is now much easier to work with. The Sub and GMT should work and not harm the band at all. I assume you are sure you got the right cushions...I have only ever seen or had the one kind of cushion so I assumed they did not make any others.

The ones that come with the Wolf Axis are the dynamic cushion. It comes with two attachments and a base. Idk, I am deciding whether to cut one of the cushions and try and and see if I can make it fit. Even if I could get the watch in, I would be scared out of my mind about bracelet stretch. my watches are all modern 116610LN and 126711CHNR

Hey,

I haven't had any luck. The store that I bought it from (my local Rolex AD) said they were having a lot of difficulty getting ahold of wolf. I am going to return the winder, or switch for a different one that doesn't use the dynamic cuff. Needless to say I'm exceptionally disappointed. I took one of the cuffs there and they had a lot of difficult with it as well. They brought out several other dynamic cuffs for me to try and none of them worked. One of them was able to force my 126711chnr on there but it was farrrrrrrr too tight and immediately acknowledged it as so. I appreciate all the help!

Hi krb65,
I purchased the single Axis copper. Did you get the winder with the 3 sizes Dynamic cuff or the fixed one? I got only one cuff. I suspect because it was produced before they announced the Dynamic cuff.
Woll’s support told me they send me a smaller one as in this link:

I have the same issue with the axis winder on my GMT and a datejust, and the small cushions on the website for the axis are out of stock. Do we know if the wolf cushions are interoperable between winders?

Same issue here. The older cushions from wolf work great because they would compress more.
