Really dark grey 16014 dial - is this real ?

Hi Guys,

I've been reading the forum for a good while now and this is my first post.
I've been on the market to find a grey datejust and found this one that looks great and I'm about to pull the trigger, however Ive never seen this color dial before and some of the font looks a bit odd to me. What do you think ?

I have a feeling this might be a refin...

Fonts aside, the text is very white and the hour lume dots are a very different color to the hands.

This wouldn’t be a show stopper if reflected in the price.

What year is this example?

This is a 1984. The dial being refinished may explain why it's so dark as well, that's a good point. I dunno if I'm allowed to discuss prices on the forum but the seller wants 3200 for it.

Seller maintains it is the original untouched dial on this watch. What ticks me off besides the color is the letter A in DATEJUST. The bar in the middle looks too low compared to all the other ones I've seen but I may be wrong. Damn it is difficult to be sure ...

It’ll come down to your judgements vs the credibility of the dealer. Caveat Emptor....
