Thoughts on this 1997 Rolex GMT Master 16700 (Coke)
Hi guys, may I request some thoughts about this 1997 Rolex GMT Master 16700 (Coke Bezel)?
Firstly, I was thinking of buying this, but I just have a few questions. Firstly, did this watch also come with a pepsi bezel in 1997 on a jubilee? I was thinking of buying a replacement insert. Also, how does it look in general? Overpolished? Also, it does not come with box or papers, so is 5800GBP's a fair price? It was sold by Watchfinder so it comes with two years warranty and has received a service. Thanks |

The case looks nice, not overly polished. The ref 16700 only came with black or pepsi insert, so the Coke insert was likely installed at a later time.
A big plus on this watch is the ref 62510 with the "50" marked designation on last links, meaning it is the correct jubilee for a GMT accepting the 2mm springbars. These bracelets are quite sought after & brig a premium over the standard Jubilee that you'd find on a Datejust. 5800 GBP / roughly $7500 USD is a fair price for this watch IMHO. I'd pay that all day long. Good luck Justin Last edited by schaumburgla; 2 September 2018 at 01:53 AM.. Reason: Additional text |

On top of what schaumburgla mentioned, the clasp code is Z8 and correct for a 1997. The bracelet likely sold with the watch. That's a plus.
The lugs and sides have been polished a bit more than my personal liking but overall it's not terrible. The price is fair and it's been serviced. |
