Rolex references

Hi,

Does anyone have a good link where Rolex References are described and 'how they work' ?

Sometimes I see the same references with for example different bracelets or dials (e.g. 1803, day-date) and sometimes I see almost the same models with different references.

So what determines if a reference differs and is there any logic?

Thanks,
Dirk
