Owned many luxury brand pens... sold them off though.

Quite frankly, Mont Blanc Fountain Pens are overrated.

I now use a Pelikan M815 18k gold - Fountain Pen...
Easily the best fountain pen I've ever used. Slightly cheaper than MB, but far superior than the Le Grande / 142 I've owned. In terms of ink wetness and smoothness. I use a fine in Pelikan. Where is in MB, I used medium. But Fine Pelikan is fantastic.

I do however use a Le Grande - MB - Roller Ball, as a backup. Keeping track of ink levels in FP can sometimes be guess work...

My backup: (very reliable, but I do prefer my FP)

I have a number of Pens, some more expensive than others and mostly Fountain pens but for the last few years, this has been my daily driver. A Special Edition Tornado Retro 51 Panda (pictured with my beloved Milgauss)

I've had a variety, Pilots, Mont Blancs, Pelikans, Parker...settled on the Lamy 2000 a while back as my go-to. Fine nib is my favorite "in meeting" doodler....

Mont Blanc
Nakaya
Visconti
Cross
OMAS
Conway Stewart
Delta
Parker
Pelikan
Lamy
Caran d'Ache

Ballpoints/FPs/Rollerballs
I have many !!

Currently buying vintage Cross ballpoints "Made in USA" and "Made in Ireland".
Cross is really "no more" .Made in China these days.
The Cross ballpoint refill made in China however is excellent .Try the Broad !!

If you like a real wood pencil ...Caran d'Ache Swisswood .Excellent !!

I’m surprised that this is the first post highlighting the Classic Stainless Steel Parker Jotter. In my former career, a reliable, sturdy, handsome pen was indispensable and I carried one always. They also made great useful gifts to the folks under my supervision.

For me, it’s the perfect “tool pen” to accompany the perfect “tool watch.”

Michael

Pelikans, Traveler, OP

With the big Pelikan, I write letters and keep a journal for my daughter. With the little Pelikan, I write daily to-do lists in the Traveler notebook.

Added a ceramic rollerball and the red Marilyn Monroe for the wife as her first luxury pen. The ceramic pairs nicely with the GMT II as well.

Very classy. Are they the M800s or M600 Pelikans? I have the M600 in blue stripe and absolutely love it. Just bought a Pilot Vanishing Point too for something which is a little more under the radar at the office.

Both are M400 West Germany, I love the semi flex vintage Nibs!! But my most beloved one is the Omas Arco Bronze from 96
