Datejust Linen questions - history/guide and production info?

Hi

The linen DJs have caught my fascination and I would like some background info on the history of the DJ wrt Linen dials. Such as production dates and numbers, color variants, etc etc etc.

Scouring the web and this forum yields no such detailed info but only very vague overview of the DJ line as a whole.

Specifically, I am interested:

* whether the darker dj (is it officially gray or blue) is available from my birth year (early 80s)

* whether there are different shades of light linen faces, or if the egg/cream appearance of some (as opposed to bright silver) are due to aging and/or photographic lighting.

* lastly, whether the case had different treatments such as polishing, mattes, beveling/chamfering. ive seen nice examples of 80s pieces with crisp matte finishes but wonder if these were original casework or aftermarket re-finishing.

Thnx
